Nice reaction. The first preacher who gave the Hooker his blood stained bible and asked her if she coculd see the promise land , wound up changing her life and she then goes on to have a son who she reads the bible to and that allows him to become a preacher _ who is telling the story of the 3 wooden crosses.

I've always preferred the Framing hanley version and always thought that the reason was because I hadn't heard the wayne version before. It just gives it so much more energy and gets your blood pumping!

Everyone in this group is a very talented musician to suggest that it's all Freddy Mercury is not an accurate statement, Brian May is brilliant on the lead guitar and they all sing, in fact one of them I'm not sure which one actually could sing the higher notes.

Your video is very good. I congratulate you on calling this a Dolly Parton Cover. Dolly Parton wrote and sang this song first and it was a hit. Later, Whitney's cover version was a mega hit. I always believe the original song writer should get credit since great song writers are MUCH more rare than even great vocalists like a Whitney Houston. Lucy Thomas' version is terrific. It will be interesting to see how her career develops. This music business is so different than it was when Dolly or Whitney careers started. Will there be song writers who can write tunes for the new talent? So far it doesn't seem so.

I remember one of my cousin's was going to Viet Nam, at his going away party he played this song for his girlfriend ( later wife ) there wasn't a dry eye in the house, pretty sure even today many play this song to their girl or guy asking them to wait. I'm 75, I got every song these two guys ever did and play them at least once a week, even do the wooden spoon as a mic to my wife.

This is not live. This is, literally, the studio version of the song lipsynced to this program. If folks want to hear the original, they should just react to the original music video.

It's so joyous to watch you introduce your daughter to one of the greatest songs of all time. Do you know, till recently Brian May was a stalwart at Royal Jubilees, that guitar. Wow!

I remember hearing this song, for the first time, on a big Jude Box at the Alaska Highway Café" mile 47 in 1957. I was five. Moreover, my Mom took a special trip into Ft St John to play it on the Alaska Highways Mile 47's Jude Box. All in all, the old/new tube Jukebox, was in a large room with high ceilings and emphasized the guitar tone. The sound was incredible and actually had the same effects as sitting inside the cabinet , as if I were sitting inside the cabinet. It is so awesome that words are not enough to explain it. At present, I know the Cords and in the process of learning the Lead.

Sure. This is America, where we rejected our own National Constitution long ago. There is no reason to permit any freedom of expressio, such as is done by Tik Tok users, as there is no constitutional protection if the free speech allowed by Tik Tok.

Watch the movie. They made a movie about this song, and a book related to both a year after this song came out. The kid was trying to work and they are also from a low income ramily. Id suggest watching the movie. Its called The Christmas Shoes. Rob Lowe is the star lol. It aint bad. Especially this time of year

I'm sorry to tell you this young lady but Ariana Grande is NOT a talented singer at all. Her voice is all smoke and mirrors while Freddy Mercury of Queen is a totally natural singer. There is no added computer nonsense to what you just heard here. That's his voice and nothing else. The music your father grew up with is ALL like that.
