yes! 4 cell of 21650, but carefull li-ion are different with li-po, so please use it if you know the character from li-ion, because if not you will crash the plane not even in 2 minutes 😅

The battery sits too far down from the control surfaces, like a mountain bike with a long stem; if the top-down COG can not be perfect with the wings then I would prefer it to sit above rather than below.

@@benznote2342 I meant top-down, not fore-aft. The design puts the heaviest cargo which is the battery too far away from the plane of the wing, so it's like a pelican with a mouthful, the control surfaces aren't good at reacting to pendulaintg movements, they tend to under or over-correct. The ideal position for cg should always be at the plane of the wing, potential solutions for this case would include lowering the wings or raising the battery tray.

yes better yours then because use carbon tailboom like this made difficult to get a correct CG, and yes huge and heavy are not people fav this days, so like your i'm rarely bring it to the field again 🙂

Is the plane's 900MHz antenna vertically or horizontally polarized ? It looks like your transmitter antenna is horizontal, and if the plane's is also you'll get severe fading (due to nulls) during turns at distance. Whenever possible it is a good idea to point the antennas with the long dimension going up/down for vertical polarization. It is hard to do for quads, but pretty easy for a fixed wing. Otherwise you'll get failsafes even with ELRS. But I've been waiting for you to move to ELRS, you've got the terrain and opportunity/experience for some very long range flights.

An informative and entertaining flight. What you call "pan interference" at 1:00 appears to be the heart beat of nervous pilots, seeing all that water and not place to land. Looking, looking, ... water everywhere! 💦😳 Great edit with music, as the "interference" merges into the beat (1:33), before going into hyperlapse mode. Nice combination of skill and luck on landing. This the equivalent of a rim-shot bounce in basketball. As long as the basket ball goes in the net, points are earned. ;) Fly safe, stay safe.

no not at all, that's the advantage from detachable mechanism from this wing which no need screw or anything, so when getting impact like this all modules will pops off easily in separated making the damage so minimal

Nice experiment and demo. Have noticed from the forum, that many using ardutracker rely on a camera that has integrated object tracking in video capability. It's kind of cheating, as ardutracker only doing the initial wide-angle tracking, and letting the camera manage focusing on and tracking an object once in-view. Only budget way I can think of for adding object in video tracking would be to use a Raspberry Pi Zero W (~$15) with OpenCV image processing / recognition library. This however would be more a software project, not an off-the-shelf (easy accessible) hardware project.

tracking object softwarely (image recognize) surely has a huge limitation, how smart that is it still can't compare with tracking with device (in this case GPS) one sample which in the video actually i'm doing it on purpose to answer what of your thoughts of and that is.... when I'm walking I'm heading to a bunch of kids playing and also I'm walking behind the wall, that should be enough to show you if that conditions will be ruined if we use image recognizing 🙂

@@tombobb yes! we can maintain flying for 2 amps top, without care about the speed it moving against the wind which is it will moving or not it doesn matter as long it's not get stall (2 amps are the minimum to powering the motor to not get stall) so 4800mAH with 2 amps for 2 hours sounds not too over optimistic isn't it 🙂

Interesting process you used to hack (reverse-engineer) and learn the camera control protocol. For code sharing, PasteBin (c, o, m, website) might be an option. Some transmitters have the capability to send GPS directly via an UART. Crossfire Nano Diversity is one such example (at least says so in the manual). This probably not much different that using your 'option #2' making use of wifi to share aircraft gps. Another option is to sync clocks in tracker and plane and include time with the gps data (ie: lat, long, altitude, and time), then would know both where and when plane was to 'guess' current position, regardless of any random delay in sharing gps position data. However, it might be too much to ask of an esp32 to calculate such realtime position 'guesses'. The problem you're needing to solve is definitely "Heisenberg uncertainty" related ... needing to know both position and time to a high degree of accuracy. Joking, but the problem is real, and exists beyond quantum mechanic systems.

Hi Thanks! the principle of course the same like this Cam Tracker which actually modify from antenna tracker, i would like to make one to show you how (not too difficult) but unfortunately i don't have material (which i should have) like motor stepper and the driver module to driving the motor (this is a reason why i made this project from PTZ Camera which already built in for that parts), i don;t like using conventional way (Servo) to driving the Tracker, because less or i can said will not accurate 2-3 degree are a huge miss aligment for tracker if we using servos and also of course less smooth (moving like a robot) when it moving

There are many antenna tracker projects on Github, or mentioned on Ardupilot forum. They often have blogs with photo and construction details. Some even have youtube video overviews. Skimming through a few will give an idea of components commonly used. Each is always somewhat custom, depending on needs, and what components have, or can get.

With FPV being popular, most pilots then to favour the Volantex Ranger (shares same wings). Most not as smart as you, overlooking the great perspective that a tail camera offers. They only think the tractor propeller will obscure their front mounted camera views.
