nice video but i got something to say about this though, hope you read this! with a 4090 which is far above anything, similar like the launch of 1080ti.. i think 10 years from now you will look at the card with alot of thankfullness, since you dont really max it out and you dont seem the type to upgrade every gen to the best gpu, this will be repayed to you in value 10 years from now. A couple of 1080ti users that i know were also thinking like this and till this day they dont seems to want to upgrade since they dont feel the need for it. People will have to upgrade every 3 to 4 of years if they have a mid range pc, i have a 3070 im not gonna play 1080p on a 27inch monitor xD Remember 980 ti was marketed as the 4k gpu, in the old games yes but now no chance, this gpu will like every other flagship age. this gpu will be the 1440p legend probably in the future, 1080ti was the 1080p legend ;).

the Ally Z1 extreme was on sale at $450. Hard to beat when it comes to value. even at a discounted price of 699, the ally x is not worth the extra bump in performance. I have a solid gaming desktop at home, and the ally complements my gaming on the go. any RPG, MMO, will do just fine on teh ally, no issues. Upgraded to a 4tb SSD and I feel like I've reached the peak of my gaming hardware journey.

I could buy a 4090 if I wanted to, but with the games that are out right now - having just literally reinstalled Classic WoW to play Classic Fresh, I wouldn't be able to enjoy a 4090. Now if there was a FOMO game that could encourage me to drop 2k on a GPU I wouldn't mind. However, the last FOMO game I ever took place in was Age of Conan.. that was like 2008 or so.

And that Ally has 16gb While Ally X has 24 most games play waaaaay smoother Madden for example runs great on X that’s the difference in 16gb vs 24gb even call of duty runs much smoother I have Both Ally and Ally X That Battery Alone Kills it cause u can play So many games of call of duty without running to that charger unlike the regular Ally, 3 Full Games of call of duty it’s dead . And Steam Deck Is Tooo Weak PC more game So that alone puts steam deck on the shelf

Yes, it’s hard to beat the Ally X for PC Handhelds. It’s just that ATM the normal ROG Ally is on a steep discount and Z2 is just around the corner that if you dont play anything too demanding and dont mind the power bank situation the normal one is a better value at the discounts.

Went from OG 512gb Series S then upgraded to Series X. After financial difficulties I sold my X and didn’t game for over a year. When I got back on my feet and could buy a console again, after deliberation I got a new and sealed black 1TB Series S for $275 off eBay with Seagate 1TB expansion card/4TB external HDD combo for $180. 4k gaming is overrated, and the minimal jump in performance that X/PS5 give isn’t worth the extra $. That extra $ could be spent augmenting your storage capacity, or buying a quality accessory like a mid-high end headset. In the grand scheme of all the devices you can play games and stream TV/movies on, the Series S is pound for pound the best value in entertainment. Price/Performance/Form Factor. Period. The Series S runs 90 percent of games flawlessly.

I'm thinking getting a steamdeck, it may not have performance and power of the rog ally or the legion go but from what seem steamdeck seems more like a console than windows device. Debating on 512gb or 1tb
@FrozenVayneGames5 күн бұрын
The biggest thing Windows handhelds have going for them is that for the most part, every game will run on them without compatibility. With SteamOS, even with how many games are supported, there are some major games, specifically multiplayer ones, that are not supported on the Deck because the anti cheat doesnt support SteamOS. Keep that in mind when deciding. Personally i think for the price, the 1TB would be my pick, unless you are okay with opening your deck and replacing the SSD with larger ones for the 512.

As long as they have the budget, it’s perfectly fine. Personally I just feel like bang for buck, the normal ROG Ally Z1E on sale or Steam Deck OLED are better value, unless battery is of the most importance and you don’t want to bring a power bank.
@DrakonR7 күн бұрын
Honestly. It's tough to beat the Nintendo Switch still. Excellent battery life, true console handheld, proper suspend, and plays all the typical games you would want to play on the go. The Ally X is just crazy expensive. Over 140 million Nintendo Switches have been sold. 3-4 million Steam Deck. Rog Ally far less than Steam Deck. The Switch is the value king. Physical games on cartridge provides investment, or you can buy digital. Easy docking that comes with the console. Seperate controllers for easy replacement and 3rd party support. LCD and OLED options. It's the best all around portable gaming device on the market. To argue otherwise is just ignorant and or fanboyism.
@FrozenVayneGames7 күн бұрын
The normal ROG Ally on sale for 450 bucks is also there as well, and for someone who wants a PC handheld, outside of battery, it offers imo not much more for almost double the price...

U comparing switch to ally x??
@bluemarvel59707 күн бұрын
Switch got beat by the Deck OLED and now the Ally X imo. The battery life difference has been closed close enough now to where either are now viable to take around as true handheld gaming systems over the switch. The switch is soooo underpowered and once you get to experience gaming on a deck or ally, it feels like you're playing a handheld Xbox one or PS4. I can never go back to the switch to play anything third party. But I'm looking forward to the switch 2.

The first handheld featuring the newest fastest “next gen” AMD mobile chip costs $1,330 The Alley X is not expensive at all for a premium device. The highest end product only originates from out of China b/c it routinely runs $1,000+ (USD) & North American manufacturers don’t believe that the west would ever pay this price for this tech. Get familiar with how to import if you want the best of best stuff b/c no company like ASUS is ever gonna sell the handheld portable version of “the best.”

I'm always wondering why do people bother with these expensive setup if they aren't playing VR or sims on multi monitor setup. What games actually need a 4090 to run smoothly at high setting?
@FrozenVayneGames12 күн бұрын
I actually was trying out the Monster Hunter Wilds beta that happened a week ago, and at 1440p Ultra settings native, I could not hit a stable 60 fps in some of the dense areas. I needed to enable DLSS or FG in order to get it above 60, but really i think the biggest hurdle for a 4090 at these lower resolutions is going to be up to developer optimization.
