on a different take, interesting choice of guitars!! ... loving the Hofner Verithin, early 60s. I have my late dad's that was bought from Selmer in the UK in 1963. Almost the same bar the trem.

Cool! I love this thing. I’ve had it for years and it’s just awesome. Super cool you’re hanging on to that. I’ll have mine forever

So good man, similar to learning to read music too. Somehow both playing and saying/reading at the same time really solidifies it in your brain.

Totally! Singing, playing, reading the notes - anything extra you can do to try and absorb them more is super helpful.

Great advice, i was in music school for many years but i struggled with exactly what you mentioned. Brain is lazy machine, so i always memorized fret patterns rather than notes. Thanks!

Same story as me! I got away with it for a long time too. Until I realized I was selling myself a bit short in the end. Good luck!

Very nice lesson. I had hoped it was a bit more about how to play the song itself. There seems a trend on alternate chord voicing or even triads that I think is brilliant. Here your lesson really shines. In my hopelessly novice ability I think there is HUGE benefit to be shown the alternate voicings. Personally, I have had songs shown in the traditional approach be very hard, but playable when shown alternatives, huge help.

Glad it was helpful! I find that those big full caged shapes are rarely played, apart from the normal "barre chords" which is just an "E Shape." These smaller alternate voicings are much more useable and pop up all over the place in music
