"Fortunate Son" Breakdown - Riff Analysis (CAGED Method + Triads)

appreciate the breakdowns of riffs. I think it would be helpful to understand the key and how the notes fit in there for future videos. Like this one, the chord appear to be out of key of CM/Am but its Gmixolydian according to the internet. Why does this song have that key as opposed to C/Am?
