Very nice, especially with the maneuvers the pilots were pulling off, giving me Star Wars Squadrons vibes. Also, was that a Thatch Weave I noticed? I wouldn’t be surprised if an Interdictor class Star Destroyer was hiding out there. Empire captures the ships, interrogates the pilots and patiently waits for more, like a spider.

Y-wings are 2 seaters?

The Y-wing was never shown to be that way in the original trilogy, but it was shown to have a pilot and a gunner in early concept art for A New Hope. This was scrapped because it would have solved the problem of Darth Vader on their tails, but the idea was picked up in games and books. The explanation was that the Rebels would modify the Y-wing depending on their resources and for what the mission required, leading to some Y-wings having two seats and some having just one. We thought it would be fun to show the Y-wing as it was originally intended, and as it is portrayed in other mediums. Thanks for watching!

Cool, it's one of those two-piloted Y-Wings with a gunner. Most Y-Wings are just one pilot with ion cannons, so I originally thought it was two Y-Wings seeing the two pilots, lol.

You do relieve space is a vacuum and there is no friction? There fore space craft do not react like aircraft. There is no banking like a conventional air craft. There's just up, down, forward, backwards and diagonal motion. The best Sifi show that depicted this was the reboot of BSG.

Yes, we do realize that. But, in the original Star Wars films, the ships banked and the cockpits rocked because Lucas based his combat on WWII dogfights. So, when making a Star Wars fan film, we felt it was necessary for us to emulate Star Wars, not BSG (as much as we love BSG too). Hope that clears things up, and thanks for watching.

No, no, you guys violated Disney rules. People of different ethnicities genders and age can't work together as a cohesive unit. All of the women need to talk down to all of the men and explain to them their privilege and what not.

Poor performance by the X-Wing pilots. 3 X-Wings versus 2 TIE Fighters should have resulted in zero casualties. Hell 1 skilled X-Wing should be able to take on 3 or 4 average TIE Fighters solo.

We respectfully disagree. Video games and other mediums have really done a lot of damage to the credibility of TIE Fighters over the years (and Stormtroopers). We wanted to go back to the original movies, where TIE Fighters were portrayed as a lot more deadly and dangerous. And, for storytelling purposes, when the villains pose no threat to the heroes, the story gets really boring really quickly. Thanks for watching!

@@RogueSharkPictures I wouldn't say they pose no threat, TIE Fighter's can be very scary when used in numbers. Like if you had 9 TIE Fighters instead and the result was 1 downed X-Wing and 2 X-Wings surviving, 1 with damage, I would say it fits more in line with how things should go. Although I understand that it would be a lot harder to portray it that way. I am biased though as I like setting up 12 X-Wing versus 36 TIE Fighter matches in X-Wing Alliance. The film was brilliant by the way. I don't mean to detract from it in any way.

Nicely Done! There is a lot of resources out there to help you on air combat tactics if you look. Watching cockpit film from WW2 will help and can be found on KZbin by history buffs. I know Lucas used it for reference in Star Wars. You're doing great, keep up the good work. There was an old west end star wars game module called Flashpoint The Brak Sector. Would love to see it go from game to film, even if only one movie. Look forward to more great films!

Love the cgi; I’ve a thing for the story via space battles and documentaries, due to my sometimes having a hard time with dialogue - although this one was pretty good. But “This is Outlaw, come in Renegade1” still makes me cringe a little. I know, I know, fighter pilots are supposed to have silly jock names, but Outlaw and Renegade1?? How about something different like ‘Grifter’ and slanging up to saying “Ren1, come in Ren1” or “Nice shooting, Ren3!”? Names that kinda roll off the tongue a little?

Great use of original Star Wars visuals. You didn’t reinvent the wheel but you were faithful to the original movies and it all looked very polished. Using shots and angles that GL used in the first movie gave it a great feel and very authentic. My only criticism would be the use of Y-wings to patrol and some of the actors looked a little out of place but the shots and the dialogue were well put together.. Top notch!
