I have a request and you may have covered it in previous videos. It runs in my family that people can’t let go, can’t forgive, can’t move on. They just keep holding the hot pot, the thing that’s burning them and hurting them. They chew on it, dwell on it, ruminate it, keep score and cannot let hurtful things just go. Is there a video on how to overcome that?

I find the part of connecting with something higher (or equal), something true, mystifying. Now, I know there is truth and that it’s coded in us and everything. How I can feel the truth, whether that’s my connection with the universe, with the Earth, anything. I just don’t feel that connection I think. Maybe I need more to let go of, or embrace, more body and awareness to feel. I just think I’m hung up a bit, and sit around waiting for examples of what others say this connection is, what they feel. I was waiting the whole video for you to say “I personally, connect to _____ as my absolute.” Haha. I’m pointing this out because I very clearly know this isn’t how to connect. But I think if this is something I wish I could see more clearly. It’s so paradoxical for me Joey :) I know it’s not this complicated thing, but for some reason I’m itching to just, know. To know I have this connection to something or know what it is I’m doing. This is coming from someone who’s spent the majority of my life dissociated from all of reality and so I haven’t felt into things in a while. I’m starting to wake up to my breath, to my body, to how it feels to just be again as if I was a child, and it’s becoming much more simple and I think the foundation for feeling is starting to become apparent. I don’t know, this is probably neuroticism… haha. Thank you for all you do, I absolutely feel the love and the transmission of what you say.

Breath awareness is very powerful for helping with this. As is intention. I recommend that you consider making a clear intention to know your connection with something greater. Make that intention every morning. And then sit for a few minutes (2-10 minutes depending on what is comfortable for you) just allowing your breath to happen completely naturally and watching it with curiosity. Do this every day and soon you will discover something which will transform your life.

I have learnt a lot about my reactions with this video, especially my claustrophobia and flying in planes. It's a perceived threat which I can't overcome, so I have fear about it and I try to avoid it. More than anything, I would love to learn how to overcome it. Though seeing it as a perceived threat helps. 👍

Yes yes yes. I have found when I am triggered, I feel tightness in my lower abdomen, and if I just focus on softening the physical sensation and relaxing, it immediately allows my mind to ungrip the idea that I am thinking xx

I’m in a situation of being manipulated. I’m angry. I believe it’s time to express myself and stop withdrawing. Allowing this to continue is not the answer. Suppression is taking its toll on my physical and mental health. How do I respond?

Recognize what you are doing to allow the manipulation. Reclaim your power. Ask yourself what you want instead. And focus on choosing that consistently. Don't waste your time and energy blaming others. Just see what you want and choose it consistently.

As I believe I advised you in another comment, shift your focus to what you want. Ask yourself what you want instead of being afraid. Then focus on that.

What is your definition of "spiritual being"? I define spiritual being as the non-material essence. Obviously, according to that definition, no spiritual being needs money. Neither can a spiritual being request nor receive money. But physical manifestations of spiritual beings often have bills to pay. Someone living under a bridge might have no bills to pay. But then they probably would not be publishing on KZbin.

Hey Joey, just meeting you for the first time now. This was a direct response to the experience I had today and have been having, I found it very helpful, thank u. Is there anything specific u would recommend to help in the process of thinking and living bigger, outside of the familiar reactions and roadblocks that repeatedly pop up in the pursuit of doing new, big, challenging things? I'm in the very early stages of practically navigating the beginning of a software startup with zero experience, nothing but a vision, and boy is it a doozy of an internal challenge, though so exactly what I need and asked for. Joey I've been dealing with a lot of anxiety during my whole life. Always in fight or flight mode. But now is manifesting through physical symptoms. Im thinking about starting taking anxiety pills (under supervision), but something inside of me tells me that this whole trip, getting to know Ramana Maharshi, Advaita Vedanta, you, is for a purpose. To do the 'work', witness the witness, shift my perception, etc. But this physical body of mine in Maya is already programmed to react in fear almost 24/7. What should I do? Could anxiety medications be helpful in my awakening path? Or should I rely on shadow work (feel my emotions)

Anxiety is an away-from strategy. Away-from strategies can work short term. For example, if a predator is chasing you (and you can outrun it) then running away can be useful. But away-from strategies are NOT good long-term strategies. As long as you use an away-from strategy long term, you will have a problem. One very helpful and powerful question to ask yourself any time you are experiencing what you call anxiety is this: "What do I want instead?" Importantly, the truthful answer to that question cannot be something such as "Not to have anxiety" or even "To be calm", because those are just ways of saying what you don't want. The point is to start to shift to a towards strategy. Focus on what you do want instead. And when you know what you do want instead, ask yourself what small, simple steps can you start taking right now to move in that direction. Then start taking those steps. Also, breath awareness is essential. Be aware of your breathing as much as possible. Don't try to breath in what you think is the right way. Just be aware of your breathing.

@@juanplazas4593 Hello, i’m in a similar position as you are. I struggle with anxiety too and have been very avoidant. Never took meds though and personally i never will, i’m not advising any specific way. But i just wanted to say that despite everything, despite having had everything against me in the past, i have started to develop trust, inner trust. It’s difficult to convey the change, it can only come from repetition of certain practices/ideas. Because now i have the tools/knowledge to meet any if not all situations. Much of it is because of Joey and his course. I think he’s still doing free consultation calls too. I feel with you and good luck on your journey!

Hey joey! I have a question. I would b glad if u help. I have this feeling that there is a mental activity but the concept of personhood IS a BURDEN . I can not even form relationships because i think I have to be thinking about the other ( too many images and mental occupancy ) , I rather want to devote my time to know the real stuff like you are telling and carving out my life in the most uninfluenced way. I get scared of being contacted , called which I consider a nuisance . Due to this , I blast at people . Can you explain this to me?

What you are describing could be a boundary issue. You might have poorly-defined boundaries. Try imagining your boundaries visually and play around with different ways of imagining that until you find what works well for you. Also, it is possible that you have a tendency to imagine yourself in other people's positions more than being in yourself. If so, choose to imagine yourself within yourself more.
