We’ve brought several 64’ BX towers and 100’ 25g towers down with cranes. On a 64’, get up 40’ , rig with chain, unbolt base, slightly lift tower, then walk the base backward as the crane spools out cable. Never move the boom. On the 100’ 25g, attach at the 60’ level and follow same procedure. Works every time.

Ineptitude. The operator was not moving lateral in consideration of the arc. The strap had horizontal load. For each foot down, he should have went a bit right as well. Using a longer strap with the purpose of load indication would have been logical. I bet there were some very upset souls on that site.

I thought it was only mine which had a problem and received signals above 9+20 with some distortion. From this video looks like they all do this! If you investigate the thing, you'll find out that above s9+20 another beat tone is generated within the receiver, and if you tune up and down, when the main tone goes down in frequency, the unwanted tone goes up, and viceversa. Looks like it comes from the other side if the bfo. You can tune a signal so that the two tones are, say, 500hz apart and hear them individually by narrowing the bandwidth and moving the if shift. Using the ipo/ attenuator completely solves this issue.

My ICOM 7600 is by far the Best Transceiver I have ever owned or used.It’s got a Beautiful display and a great receiver and filtering. It works Amazingly with my ICOM PW-1 Amplifier.It’s been a Perfect HF/6 meter base for me since I purchased it New when my ICOM 756 PROII failed me.I am adding an ICOM 9100 to the desk with it once it arrives later this week.It will serve as my VHF/UHF SSB radio and a backup HF/6 meter radio if needed.👍👏🎙

What do you get when four tight-ass hams half-ass a job because they 1) know better and 2) want to save money? A wrecked yagi and a ruined tower.

Riggers Fault ? He looks like a lumber delivery guy they probably knew and asked a favor. Guy knows how to unload lumber, not rig ariel loads like this . The guys that asked him to do this likely didn't research how to do it. I would bet the guy operating the boom is NOT a rigger and probably didn't claim to be.
