It's still not easy today to build a 1700h.p. motor, and then be able to just get in, hit the key, and cruise it around like a true street car. Especially with an old school S.B.C. Nice job! 👌

10:54 I would have thought that the halo of the cage could have been installed just a few inches higher, but there must be a reason for it being as low as it is. That would kind of drive me crazy with it as low as it is. Maybe the guy who owns it is a shorter fella... 🤷🏻

Til they change the rule book the very next year, and ban the thing.... That would SUCK, but I can see it becoming a reality. Maybe the driver of that boat should just sandbag, and sneak up on the wins, instead of demolishing the entire field. If THAT would happen, it will be banned for SURE.

4:35.... So, do you end up having to machine off some material from the main bearing bulkheads to be able to fit that crank with the extra counterweights in the block? If so, how much on each side of each bulkhead has to come off? If it were me, I'd DEFINITELY WANT the fully counterweighted crank in an application such as this 100%. I bet the #2 and #4 mains come out of that thing looking brand spankin new. If that motor had a crank that was a conventional design, that is missing the center 2 weights, I would think the main bearings WOULD come out of that thing after those CRAZY ass dyno pulls with some kind of evidence of damage on the outside edges of the bearings. 🤷🏻 That IS a HELL of a load, for a HELL of a long time on that thing, to not have a perfectly balanced rotating assembly to start with. A non-centerweight crank is a compromise for a low horsepower engine that will NEVER turn nearly as fast, or see as HUGE of a load, and for as long of a time, as this one sees. Once I started using fully counterweighted cranks in my drag racing engines, and seeing how the main bearings started coming out looking as if they were never even used at the end of the season, I will never go back to a conventional crank again in any performance engine. Absolutely NUTS! I LIKE it!!... NICE job!......😁 👍 🤜

@seananon. If you really knew anything about race motors you would know that peak output is turbo all day long, but look at the low r.p.m. torque figures and you will see turbos can't match torque off idle you get from a blower.
