Dont see this is bad if its legal here and they are catching this fish for food, they are after spawn so they are gonna die shortly after anyways might as well catch them before they do for food.

I've fished Oak Orchard and watched the DNR bust a bunch of clowns with a cooler full of roe. They watched these guys snag and cut the fish open and throw the roe in said cooler and leave the fish on the bank. Despicable!!! Had an amazing time fishing and I took home what I caught.

Sport or meat fish ? Sometimes you fish water where they don't bite. So it's frustrating when fish are boiling in front of you. That's been happening at one of my favorite fishing holes the last 3 years. Before that the fish would bite. The local guides are even taking clients fishing there.

There are a lot of waterways in the US where salmon are artificially stocked and if they don't get caught that year they will all just die, so they can be taken by pretty much any means.

All the Salmon Die after they lay their eggs. they change to this nasty white color and die. curious as to the real problem? is it because they didn't pay big money to some gov agency for a special license? or it's just not sportsmanlike? I know at that time of year you can literally put that fishes fav food right in front of it face and it will not bite. 3 in 3 out. done and pay the man cleaning the fish and go home for dinner. doesn't hurt you or anyone. the rules are there so that DNR or what NYs police agency can right $$$ tickets. thats it. change my mind.. I was there 3 years ago and snagged 2 fish and didn't actually catch any by mouth.. just left cause all the eyeballs whining like some strange protector of the fish savior calling every snag out. kind of annoying. but hey if you go to bed better go for it.
