Caught this on the replay. Thanks so much for sharing some of your collection! So cool to see all the pieces! I am fortunate enough to have some originals from 4 of 5 Brofessionals.

Superman is superior to anyone or anything from beneath a yellow sun. Dr Strange has great magic, so he's the only one that could harm Superman. (Ghostrtider is not powerful enough) That's your team.

Yeah, won't be spending a red cent on it if there is a 25% tariff in place. The man who will be in charge has announced that on day one of his term, Canadian imports will have a 25% tariff applied to all products we buy from them. He’s mostly trying to suppress the practice of Americans buying cheaper prescription drugs from Canada in lieu of paying the highest prices in the world from American pharmaceutical manufacturers, though his excuse is to cut down on illegal immigration and illegal drugs. The tariffs will be lifted once those are wiped out. But this will apply to everything created over the border from January 20th onward, not just drugs. Every comic book published today by the top ten publishers is printed in Canada using Canadian paper and ink. As there is currently no viable cheaper alternative to switch to, this will mean the end of the $3.99, and likely the $4.99 comic book being published, ASAP, as the $1 to $1.25 added to those printer’s costs will mean the cover prices are likely to be increased by from $1.00 to 3.00 per copy, for a minimum of $4.99/5.99-5.99/6.99. Or higher. Eventually, it may mean: 1) the U.S. comic book-market will need to switch back to domestic printers whose higher costs will raise cover prices by at least as much; 2) they’ll decide to simply absorb the Canadian tariff the Canadian printers need to add to their manufacturing costs and continue as they are now, but with those higher cover prices; 3) they will reduce the number of titles being published to accommodate the current market’s total available cash in the wallets of their customers, while simultaneously raising the cover prices even higher to make up the difference in revenue; or 4) they'll decide to stick to current cover prices, and go out of business in a very short period of time. Newspaper Sunday comics sections have also been largely printed in Canada. So, we'll see what the upshot of THAT is for Sunday comics and newspapers. Of course, since a lot of the hardcover books from those publishers are printed in China, those prices will rise, though, initially, not as much, as the promised tariff there will begin at a mere 10%. No instant inflation rate of 25% can be withstood by any industry without effect, and I find it difficult to believe that comics will be the exception. So, you get what you vote for, I guess.

The movie was "UNDER The Rainbow"!! You're thinking of the OTHER Snow White song, "Someday my Prince will come" ... but considering the lack of detail and clarification at this stage, we don't really know what is actually going to happen. I HATE hearing you people talking about Drump! I can't stand it!!
@SamAM1623 күн бұрын
"Drump" is not a good president, NOTHING went well the first time he was in office house and things are worse than you believe! Guns do not solve problems!

I live the characters in this book. The words like Gat and other slang are used today. Also the fact that people today dislike people who wear their pants sagging is telling. Also the villains wear sharp clothing and we think they’re the most important and respected characters. Times have never changed. Also on iTunes I’m listening to Studs Terkel’s archive and they have a man by the name of Chicago’s King Pharaoh. He’s a hot dog cart guy by day and a hustler behind the scenes whose family are working in important positions in the city of Chicago. What gets me is that by reading the Thimble Theater Comics and other comics you can learn a lot about people and how society operates. E. C. Segar was ahead of his time. If you ever listen to Stud’s interview of King Pharaoh he also says that he hates “Fiction.” Fiction is what helped me understand my station in life and my path toward the future. I can go on but thank you for sharing this. I have to pull this comic book off my shelf and read it again.

Graham, consider this bit of head cannon on the Kirk "Khan" line from ST 2 since at this point there still wasn't any cursing in ST. I always considered the full line to be either "Khan, you dirty SOB" or "Khan, you MFer" but they wouldn't let Kirk say that at the time.

I agree. The McCoy slap, the lame Kirk pillow throw , Capellans garb , and the awkward look on Spock’s face holding the baby were the best parts of this episode.

I know this a year ago, but I really hope your muscles in your back are all healed up as good as new Mr. Nolan. @5:05 "Good Morning back exercise I do not recommend" It's reportedly the exact same exercise that paralyzed Bruce Lee. Supposedly he had an injury from a previous fight injury and the "Good Mornings" aggravated it and he collapsed right there on the spot, it was his lower sacral nerve specifically and he couldn't walk for almost a year. Obviously he came back from it better than ever.

@14:00 "Boobs and blood, they go together strangely. Even though blood can be gross" What comes to mind is that Joe Rogan podcast that mentioned "In the Hypothalamus of the brain, the pack of Neurons for AGGRESSION is directly associated to the pack of Neurons for Sexuality" -from Dr. Walter Rudolph Hess's Nobel Prize Winning work.

Another one for the ages. Not sure which was my favorite moment: Ron's classy put-down of Aaron, "Well, that just shows your depth of character..." Or Aaron rendering Ron speechless by hitting on him.😂

Great discussion. Excellent analysis by DC Fontana in 1967 that Scotty was getting zapped in other episodes. Let’s use Spock this time . I also never knew originally that Hedford would be revived by the companion however it was changed to be a merger

As much as I hate to use comments for self-promotion, Graham, your mention of a Doc Savage/Thing from Another World crossover reminded me that I did an homage to The Thing with my pulp-SF character, The Last Star Warden, in Black Infinity Magazine #10. As a bonus selling-point, the cover story in that issue is "The Fog Horn", Ray Bradbury's tale that inspired the Harryhausen classic The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms. I think you'd dig Black Infinity in general.

I've watched every single episode you've made Mr. Nolan, I really appreciate the discussion+ conversation that pays respect to this great show. I'm wondering if it'll ever be possible for Mr. William Shatner himself to come on the show. I mean I don't think we're really that small time even for a legend like him, I mean we got THEE creator of Bane a giant in the Batman mythos, KZbin star That Star Wars (Trek) girl anna, and some revered professionals in the comic book industry such as Mr. Garney and Mr. Lopestri! Even if not Shatner himself, I think Walter Koenig would be cool or any others linked to the show still with us. Btw lookin good Star Wars girl! Amna is always cool on any show, congratulations on coming closer to delivery date!

The Monster of workkept me away from this one but the Quote of the Day was "They're eating the guests sir!" with a close runner being "we'll polute the bastards to death!" - take that Greenpeace! Awesome fun movie - the little bubble bubble sound effect when the Piranhas attack always make me laugh - and some members of the crowds are having way too much fun in the attack scenes!

All of Robert Eggers' filmography is a must watch. I think he is on his way to becoming a master film maker. His next film is the "Nosferatu" movie coming out at the end of the year.
