Tighten up your suspenders and the straps on the chest. Figure it out when you aren’t on the ice.

@@chrisxdudo I've been trying to make the side panels for a month now, I think the problem is in the Velcro that attaches the side panels to the sides of the pants

@@chrisxdudo I decided to lift the sides of the shorts, after which they started to fly out or ride up, and I can’t get them back. It’s like the velcro doesn’t hold them, they don’t fit the sides of the shorts.

Similar to what I do. Except I put my mask into my chest protector or in my pants for that protection. Also put the jock into my pants so I don’t forget to put it on because I have to pull it out in order to put my pants on.also easier as I take off my jock and pants at the same time. Same with neck guard. I use the Velcro to secure it to my chestie straps so I have to take it off and put it on to put my chestie on. Also as I put it all into my bag I’m lightly spraying an odor killer spray FunkAway onto the gear. I do this because I can’t air out my gear until the next day since my games are late and I don’t have a garage to let dry out and won’t let the gear sit on porch overnight so this odor killer helps keep it from stinking until the morning.

How would you rate the mcdavid pads vs wearing volleyball knee pads? The volleyball ones do help with cushioning when dropping down, but adds bulk.

To my knowledge, he has never worn knee pads, just legal thigh wraps that go under the pant.

He’s been in thigh wraps since the beginning of his starting career, so since 2007 he has been wearing them. Thigh wraps were stock on goalie pads at the retail level for well over a decade until 99% of goalies switched to stand alone knee pads.

@@chrisxdudo Hyperlite was a godsend for ball dek/hockey. Light and flexible. Not sure it is protective enough for ice. Was thinking of a beefed up version vs the ccm chesty. will look forward to your review bro!

This is pretty much the way I set up. The only adjustment I had to make was for the Bauer garter belt. In games where I was getting a lot of work it would start to fall down my waist even at the tightest setting. I solved this problem by adding 3 lace loops (one on each side of the belt and one on the back. I did the same for the inner belt of my goalie pants and I used 3 carabiner clips (one for each loop) and I hooked the garter belt to the inner belt loop of the pant with the carabiner clip and I’ve never had a problem since. Belt stays up, knee pads stay up, and pants feel great.

I wore 32+1.5 20.2 pads for a season and a bit. single internal, no external. and they were extremely comfortable and i could move and skate the best in those. I probably could have used a single break at 1.5 or went +2 no break, as i had a tiny gap at the 5hole, with my knees together. All in all, best pad i ever wore, then i got 32+2 hzrdus single internal, no external and i absolutely hate em lol. at retail the new boot angle makes the pads much taller,and not matter what i do, i can not get the pad to sit straight on my leg, they are crooked as hell and the tops interfere so bad with each other. The only thing i can do is strap the upper frs fairly tight (which i dont like) and where the behind the knee fairly tight(again i hate that) and they are still slanted, but manageable. I have since bought a ccm e6 in 33+1 and everything is perfect on them (minus the shit speed skin) I am very sad with the px4's

White acrylic dollar store hobbie paint kind of dry brushed on can brighten the sweet off color parts of the inside pad mesh to match .I do it often to used gear and it drys fast .

I agree 100% with Scott about the crazy sliding surfaces and why I've been against them for so long and I prefer just normal material there. I sold my Iconiks because I that slide was so good that I swear (tinfoil hat) it aided in my groin tear last year. There is so much less friction when you go down that you can really feel the only thing keeping the pad from continuing out is you muscles and tendons. The weave on my PX3 set felt oddly slow (Bauer was quicker), so I'm curious how much slower this material is comparatively. Also funnily enough Milky always said I had acid sweat too 😂. So on top of being extra sweaty, it's extra gross too! Nice!
