A couple tips from someone that has a lot of real traps. Use the auto throttle control function in the airplane. If you have the Thrustmaster throttle, It's the small red button under your left ring finger. Once activated it will show up in the HUD as ATC. This will make it much easier to get aboard. Now use pitch to control your glideslope. Once you pick up the meatball on final, try not to be reactive to the meatball, waiting for a high or low indication. Assuming it's close to centered when you pick it up and you're around 700 fpm, flatten your approach with a little back pressure on the stick and look for the meatball to move very slightly above centered and then adjust back to a slightly lower pitch and drive the ball back to centered. Then repeat until touchdown. Now you're controlling the ball not the other way around. This technique was called "Crowning the Ball." years ago and helped me get aboard every time. This technique works also with any airplane flying a glideslope.

Gents, I can see there's been some discussion below, but where is the livery for the A10CII as featured in this video? I have flown it quite recently but dont recall seeing this particular skin as an option. Is this a mod or core? It's beautiful and would love to fly this skin on Caucasus or Normandy. Many thanks.

Hi - Thanks Matt for doing these videos. They are excellent! I am new to DCS and I have a question. In the mission editor Tarawa is not listed with the other ships. I do see the other carriers. I can't bind RHG Manual Tracker to axis using the ministick on my Virpil MC3 throttle because I already binded the Cursor controller to that ministick. But if I'm not mistaken Wags says that's possible (min 31:57). In other words: if I'm using my ministick for slewing the TADS as CPG, can I use the same ministick to move the cursor between the MPDs?

Haven’t played for a few months comeback to basically restarting everything I thought I knew. Also they need to make an Apache Hotas as the hornet stick and a10 throttle aren’t enough

F/A-18 The GBU-12, GBU-10 no longer explode on impact. I've tried both the FMU-155 and FMU-135, but it still doesn't work but in the F-16, the bombs work just fine. Is this a bug? Also, why do players have to change these fuzes themselves? Shouldn't the correct settings be the default? as a player, I might just want the bomb to detonate properly, and it would be better to spend time improving the explosion effects to make them more realistic.

The Apache looks so much complex to me now. I got lost on these systems tutorials way back. I kind of just fly the bird around these days. I must equally say lots of credit to ED for such a detailed virtual representation of the AH-64D.

I love the technology that all the systems for bluefor aircraft bring to the table, but I fear that this immense advantage makes redfor helo less viable and pushes us out of significance on the battlefield. 1st: Are you aware of this challenge that the community faces? Secondly, are there any plans to add more modern systems or updates to the redforces? I know that there might be a problem to implement the current systems but I mean Mi24V with low light tv camera and flir (I just read a US paper from the 70s where it states that east Germany had about 300 of those helos), Ka50 Sh or more modern airframes? I have the Airbus stick from Thrustmaster.. I have to set like a high deadzone and the helicopter still has never flown that steady forward.

This has become my preferred method of doing business with the Apache. Great rendition of an amazing technology.

Seeing as the symbology pops up even on the RMAP screen, is there really any downside to using the RMAP instead of GTM, beyond the extra visual "noise" maybe being distracting at times?
