Filter system hose possibly needs a medium float, and anchor to hold it in mid water flow to keep it out of deep mud. If a float is added to a pully and attach a float to the other end of the cord that stays on top of the water to allowing the hose to not touch the surface of underlying mud most of the time do you think it would slow the silt build up on the filter? It might act like the workings of the inside of the toilet tank.
@BruceWinter

I have since switched to a collector pond which allows for silt to settle out better. A couple of videos on that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2nHfIZnrKubfsU kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZyVlaeClphjgNU

I ended up raising it up 10' above ground on that same tree, using a 10' PVC pipe. Any higher was too tricky without a big ladder. Still lots of trees and rock in the way, but can get 2 of the 4 big networks pretty reliably.

Got the Adafruit eyes. Hard to come by, always sold out from all retailers. Snatched 2 when in stock. Next day, out of stock. Loaded 4 sets of eyes for variation, installed Timothy Weber's software. Eye tracking works great. Took the eyes to a pizza joint I go to, creeped everyone out, total success! The Hexa Base Rotate Kit ROB0114 is discontinued. Have another option I'm looking into to get the head to rotate. Have a sister up in Seattle that loved your video, so I'll be making one for her family. Been awhile since you posted this video, so if you still monitor these comments, thanks for a great way to make a person feel uneasy. Thanks again.

How do you get around the GFCI on the hot tub? I want to automate turning on/off it but if the power goes out and then back on the hot tub does not turn on without resetting the GFCI built into it
@BruceWinter
@BruceWinter Жыл бұрын
Hmmm, my GFCI must be different than yours. The original one I got with my Sundance Dover defaulted to on when restored to power. It dies a few years ago and I replaced it with this one which also defaults to on: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DWNCQG2

You are fashionable with the times. The front page of today's Wall Street Journal (Apr 26) has a story about the cold tub trend. Unfortunately there are not very credible people promoting this stuff - celebrities like Gwyneth Paltro etc who in my opinion have the same intelligence as a box of rocks. But your cold tub looks like a fun (cool) experiment. Thanks for sharing (even it is endorsed by Ms Paltro) .

How much for this system all in? Also I think I can improve you system with an efficiency boost cheaply Mylar blanket on each side to hold in heat and reflect the uv onto the sides of the plants.
@BruceWinter
@BruceWinter Жыл бұрын
I have a parts list with price in the video description. Roughly $250 for lights and shelve and another $250 for everything else. I have some natural light, so in my case, probably don't want to use a blanket, but I can see that being useful in a windowless room.

@@BruceWinter I am interested in the design, the servo motor, how you operate it, and how on earth did you get the capacitive touch to work? I would imagine you probably use a capacitor? Looking forward to a video to learn more. I am a programmer by profession so I was just interested how you integrate everything. ESPHome lamda functions is my goto when I need to add custom code
@BruceWinter
@BruceWinter Жыл бұрын
@@HeinzMeulke I used a 1 foot length of speaker wire, wrapped around the servo arm, to simulate the capacitance of a finger. Nothing magic about 1' or the wire type, any little capacitance would do the trick.
