Is there any way I could purchase that setup? I will gladly pay good money for it and for shipping?
@BruceWinter4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, depends how comfortable you are with tech gear. If you wanted the remote or voice control feature, shipping a complete package would be a bit tricky, unless you already had some sort of home automation program running. Writing an Alexa or Google Home skill could be done, but would probably not be worth it for just one usage.

cool. any chance you could provide a parts list and the yaml?
@BruceWinter4 жыл бұрын
I updated the video description (above) to include a parts list. It now also lists the esp-home code, which includes the mqtt section I didn't show in the video. I use node-red rather than yaml, but it is very simple. When the 'Unleash the hounds' scene is activated, node-red sends 'open' to the mqtt nr/dog_door topic.

I'm surprised you didn't set up a wireless mini mic attached to you and your phone mounted on a drone that follows you around recording. Heh heh
@BruceWinter4 жыл бұрын
:-) Tempting, but I wouldn't trust my drone with a nice phone. I got it stuck in a tree for a few months last year before I was able to shoot it down with a bow and arrow.
