Looks cool :) Can it be somehow compared with "classical" CFD like Star-CCM+ - in terms of simulation and/or model preparation time?
@thinkfluiddynamix4834 Жыл бұрын
We've employed the Lattice Boltzmann code M-STAR CFD. The mesh generation takes under a minute to complete. As a result, it took me a mere 20 minutes to set up the model and commence running the solver.
@sergeianpilov5222 Жыл бұрын
@@thinkfluiddynamix4834 That's interesting, especially the "20 minutes" part :) Can I ask about the simulation wall time and used GPU? PS Do I get it right that LBM is transient-only?

How are you combating numerical diffusion in laminar passive scalar case?
@thinkfluiddynamix4834 Жыл бұрын
Hi! numerical (or false) diffusion happens mostly with 1-order upwind schemes. These simulations are calculated using a Lattice-Boltzmann Method solver. The explicit time-scheme, together with a very small time-step (Courant number = 0.03) and a very high resolution (50 Million lattice points) makes sure that we do not have any problems with numerical diffusion.

which one the more realistic? LES or URANS?
@LoloLolo-px2fb Жыл бұрын
Les
@KW-1211 ай бұрын
LES because you literally cut the vórtices you can resolve in a simulación with a filter that is defined by your mesh size. With RANS you are avergaing, you aren't really watching any vortices.

Hi, i have a problem for a numerical simulation of agitated vessel (MRF method) Pre Processing CFX 15.0; can you help me please ? DOMAIN INTERFACE: Domain Interface 1 Boundary List1 = Domain Interface 1 Side 1 Boundary List2 = Domain Interface 1 Side 2 Interface Type = Fluid Fluid INTERFACE MODELS: Option = General Connection FRAME CHANGE: Option = Frozen Rotor END MASS AND MOMENTUM: Option = Conservative Interface Flux MOMENTUM INTERFACE MODEL: Option = None END END PITCH CHANGE: Option = None END END MESH CONNECTION: Option = GGI END END In Analysis 'Flow Analysis 1' - Domain Interface 'Domain Interface 1': The interface is placed at a rotor-stator interface and the pitch change option of 'None' has been selected. This option should only be used when the overall extent and shape of each side of the interface perfectly match and the surfaces are aligned with each other. It may therefore be suitable when full 360 degree or exactly equal pitch components are being analyzed.
