CFD In Water Treatment: Resuspension of sludge in stirred tank

This CFD animation shows the resuspension of sludge particles settled at the bottom.
The installed equipment are hyperboloid mixers of the type INVENT HYPERCLASSIC Evolution-7. This kind of mixing system has the ability of pumping directly at the bottom level, which leads to swift resuspension of particles and a sedimentation-free bottom surface.
This simulation uses a time-accurate Euler multiphase mixture model.
