A portable bandsawmill is good for hobby sawing, but this is the type of machine you need for serious production to run a business.

There are no guides on the edger he his pushing the headsaw to hard and it’s running into the edger I run the same style setup

@@TheWildWestMillI know there's no guides on the edger I meant the head saw it's running out of the log, either that or dull
@TheWildWestMill3 ай бұрын
Yep you’re exactly right. That saw is getting dull. He’s pushing too hard or the guide pins aren’t where they should be

Hello, I am curious how you close/stamp the plastic bags. Is this method reliable?
@JacksonLumber8 жыл бұрын
+LJTimber Ltd Wood Shavings Producer Plastic bags are usually have the ends folded over and closed with a heat sealing iron (www.wcpsealers.com/HTML/Heat-Seal-Hand-Iron.html). The special covering over the metal part to keep the plastic from sticking to it. Some other customers use a ribbon-type heat sealer (www.uline.com/BL_2260/Foot-Operated-Poly-Bag-Sealers-Impulse-with-Cutter) which works kind of like those kitchen appliances for heat sealing food in freezer bags. A few customers simply fold over the plastic and tape with packaging tape.

Jackson Lumber could not be endorsing this video with the head saw running out. As for adjusting guides the saw should run true, the guides merely a fail safe (safety net). My first thought for running out as it seems to be doing is blade tension issues. B U T there are many factors to consider.Those would not be in sawyer 101.

That thing makes some nasty cuts with the egders saws. The top edger saw is cutting WAY too deep and those will no way plane out.

@MiscCheetah. As a rule of thumb, you are correct, but watch the video, Donkey has a point, some of the slight cuts that he is talking about, are more than slight, and are too deep to plane out. The 8x8 or whatever he is sawing has to go into some sort of gang saw system, and then the deep cuts will show there true colors. Most of the slight cuts wont hurt, but i did see a couple that would.

Shavings look to Fluffy for Animal Bedding. My customers still prefer bi product shavings from planers over manufactured shavings. Large flakes are not as absorbent and often clump up in stalls. What is the percentage of moisture of the final product? I found the flakes to be dry but the dust left in the product still holds moisture! ( that might just be my suppliers operation.)

It's like a canter and a gang all in one. tail it with an edger and a trimmer and you could produce alot with 3 operators if you fixed that one flaw of your horrizontle saws and made it so they didnt cut deeper then 2 inch flitch
@richardkruse97394 жыл бұрын
Agree for sure i think I like a resaw straight done the rolls then back to the edger. feeding edger from both side then to drop off out the mill to trimmer and green chain

OK, I'm no expert, but aren't those edging saws leaving slight cuts in the bigger piece of lumber?
@ron71873 жыл бұрын
This is the initial rough cut lumber. That'll get planed down to the dimension that you get at the lumber yard.

The edger is leaving lines in the log cuz he’s pushing too hard and probably needs the sharpen. I run the same style setup and it will do that
