This arguably the finest recording of this I've ever heard. Super warm and lush. The recording technique and performance is stellar. Sounds like every instrument had his own analog tape track that got tweaked back in the studio. No hot spots or tweaking like most earthy type warm recordings. Not the big orchestra disinterest that comes through sometimes. Sounds like everybody knows the cowbell and tambourine is gonna make this record. Yes yes yes completely yes. Bravo

WOW! I need you as my publicist! LOL ;) Live live live.... but.... I was in a studio with all of the comforts of sound. It was a fun long day for me. This is not the only performance that was recorded. I spent then whole day recording high school bands. Then the festival concluded with many heavens. This was recorded onto a DAT. That tape has some corrupted areas after all of these years. This is one of two that made it here.. Once again thanks

@@jamesbarnes5808 I do live sound and I play trombone. Many of the artist I did sound for were amazed at how good a cassette recorder captured their live show better than all the work that went into their studio recording. You hit that sweet spot between upgrades in technology and hard way know how.

One of the most ironic things about Jack Sheldon is the title of the documentary about his life and career, "Trying To Get Good: The Jazz Odyssey Of Jack Sheldon." He should have already gotten a Kennedy Center Honor. He carried the torch of this type of jazz music, swing, bop, and Armstrong-esque entertaining through the years for us Baby Boomers. Does he still play live? I would fly to California to see him. This is an epic performance!
