Very helpful video, Thanks! I didn't realize that ice directly from the freezer was actually colder than store bought bagged ice. I did run the faucet until there was beer fully in the lines, then put ice (directly from home freezer) in the middle of the coil. The first draw was perfect and cold, but when I came back ~20 mins later everything was froze up. I simply poured about 2 quarts of cold water over the coil, and retried...all's well. Next time, only bagged ice to begin with. :)

Hello may I inquire on the use of Co2 considering the cost of buying a cylinder , isn't it increasing cost of operation?

Can I use gravity instead of a pump? Just bought a used kegerator, came with the container for the cleaning solution, but no pump.

Does serving temperature have an affect on how much psi you apply to your beer? I have a London Pride clone in the keg at 50°F @ 13 psi to achieve a 2.14 volume of CO2.

The keg lift or screwdriver keeps the ball at the bottom pushed up so the bad/old beer can drain when you pump the cleaner in. Just set the coupler on the screwdriver inside of the pot and it will work fine.

I just stick a toothpick in to hold the ball up.
@edwardhill6945
@edwardhill6945 Жыл бұрын
I also pull the toothpick after most, but not all of the cleaner has been pushed through. I leave it soak this way, with the lines full, for a few minutes. I also toss the disassembled faucet parts into the pot, & let them soak, before finally rinsing the lines. Soaking the Intertap SS ,(or any faucets), cleans them much better than simply brushing & re-installing.

Sorry, I missed where you put the faucet into the pot. Good on you to state leaving everything to soak for a few minutes.

Holy Shit, I'm way late on my help, but hopefully you can help me. I just bought a kegerator, and I'm having a problem with high pour rate, and foaming really bad. I have my CO2 bottle at 12psi, and my beer of choice is Bud Light. Can you give a few ideas what I'm doing wrong, besides drinking BUD LIGHT. Thanks

Seems like a LOT of pressure just to push beer; that is the range of forced carbonation. Pretty interesting, I never understood what they were trying to accomplish; always seemed easier to chill the keg.

Great video help thks. Solving CO2 leaks is one of the hardest things I have ever done. These systems do demand experience and know-how. If you are one of those people who buy a system and it all works (I once was like that) you have no idea the world of trouble you have avoided. My system took weeks and months to sort out, but I did sort it out. Wish I had seen this video earlier.

With Kegerators everyone keeps saying to be at 11/12 psi but with my system being a 1/2 barrel of Busch I get mostly foam. When I dial it back to 7/8 psi I get absolute perfect pours with 1/4" or less foam. Anyone else have this problem?

@ 1:14 you say something about your "keg lifter or screwdriver" and then you just moved your hands around and put the line int he bucket. What the hell was that? I am cleaning my line for the first time, and I ordered my supplies (pump, spanner wrench, cleaner, brush) but is there something else that I need? Im confused!

Still new to home keg but I have found that when I set my Co2 to 10-12 psi all I get is foam. Everyone says that is perfect psi but when I dial it back to 6/7 psi, I get perfect pours everytime with 1/4-1/2 inch head. This is on a Kegco system with Busch beer on a 1/2 barrel.

If my kegged beer is carbonated to 5 PSI, but then my serving pressure is 10 PSI, won't the beer carbonation level increase over the course of a few days? How can I keep my beer carbonation steady (2-5 PSI) while serving at a higher PSI to maintain a good level of head/foam?
@peterwerle7966
@peterwerle7966 5 жыл бұрын
You can't. If your regulator pressure is higher than the keg pressure it will force carbonate the beer until they're equalized, its basic physics. To prevent issues with your serving pressure you just use longer keg lines. Just follow a carbonation chart, set your pressure relative to your beer style and kegerator temperature, and if you can't pour cleanly get longer lines and work on your technique. www.kegoutlet.com/media/uploads_ckeditor/Carbonatin-Chart.jpg
