Needs a lil work Brodie. Keep practicing that drill. You'll get there. Work the inside of the ball.

Shoot, I thought it was a one step tutorial on how to throw a back up ball lol. As much as I’ve tried, I can’t do it.
@bowlersgrind5 ай бұрын
That's how it started! As a drill. And then I started changing my ballspeed/angles/targeting and realized it can be a style if you can learn the mechanics and repeat the shot! Going to do specto on the low ball speed/high revs next week!

There is no move to be made. A stuffed 9 for a lefty or a back up bowler is just straight bad luck. If it were an 8 then you can move on that.

Cup the wrist, elbow tight, drop your right shoulder a bit, stay under the ball. Cupping the wrist allows you to stay under it

Do you use grips? I'm a no thumb bowler, and I can't use grips. My fingers literally go all the way in and touch the core. I can't find anyone with this approach to study and get better from
@bowlersgrind9 ай бұрын
So your holes go all the way in like a house conventional ball? I have one ball that is drilled that way. In this video, there are the grips/tips. For me it's about comfortability. A lot of no thumbers use the grips, some go without, etc But if i'm playing more straight I prefer the deeper holes, if i'm trying to hook it more then then tips help me get out of the ball faster etc

I posted a short below. In this video, both balls are drilled conventional and have huge holes like a house ball.
@ThomasMason-go1eq9 ай бұрын
Also, the way you drop the ball is causing your ball to lose a lot of energy. Work on projecting it onto the lane. Not lofting it per say. Imagine your like a pilot landing a plane. You want a soft landing, not a nose dive.
@bowlersgrind9 ай бұрын
kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKq2qISKlNBoqrssi=jQvmBXAkaxuZCgxr I Couldn't agree more! Around the 10 minute mark I moved more left for sure. I usually play on sport shot so I tend to start more straight up when getting warm. But absolutely utilize free hook when it's there! I try not to swing the whole lane unless the conditions ask for it just personally I have more control playing straight up on sport shots 💯
@ThomasMason-go1eq9 ай бұрын
@@bowlersgrind The problem with playing more right is the same problem as throwing the ball straight. It's harder to create enough entry angle into the pocket. I bet you leave a lot of 10 pins or go Brooklyn quite a bit. Moving left and learning to shape it more will help. I promise.
@ThomasMason-go1eq9 ай бұрын
You shouldn't be playing that far right with your rev rate and speed. You're making bowling way harder than it needs to be. You don't learn to hook a ball to play straight.
