I didn’t ‘compile’ the songs, I sound mixed them for a video of the concert interspersed with the short introductions from John which were recorded after the concert.

Country Roads trivia: The Shenandoah River is principally in Virginia, with only a very short stretch in West Virginia. A stretch from Frederick County, Va to Harpers Ferry, WV, where it then feeds into the Potomac.

True but ‘Almost heaven, West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Potomac River’ doesn’t scan or keep the meter of the verse 😁

I am 53, living in the parallel worlds, words and melody carried by the voice from heaven. 1994 was a year before the wildlife concert. Somehow it seemed he had found a purpose to make himself walked out a period of darkness. Fly away John❤

We were lucky to see him in a small concert with less than a thousand people and he played like he was performing in front of 10,000 . He died a year later . The air was magical that night and i couldnt beieve what a talent he was. RIP And thank you for years of good feelings and the healing of broken hearts

John wrote three very tender, specific love songs,"Annie's Song, "Lady", and "For You". I sang and played the video for "Lady", to my unconscious wife, dying in the living room of that damn brain tumor, because it promised, I would always to be with her, and nine years later, I still am, however you want to measure 'together'. I'm still 'as close as I can be............."

This song is definitely about Annie and how much it hurts him to be without her, sadly we lost John three year later with the plane crash, I was absolutely destroyed when I heard of his accident, absolutely destroyed.
@SMART73ER2 ай бұрын
It's not about Annie. He explains at the beginning of the video that it's about a Vet returning home with an uncertain future.

Loved John and his music since the early 70's, his song Sunshine on my Shoulders was our song, Sue and I, I lost her to another and it breaks my heart everytime I hear it. John in my opinion is the greatest male singer I've ever heard, he can stand up there and effortlessly and sing song after song in perfect pitch, hardly a break in between, his vocals are amazing, his ability to sustain notes for long periods of time are unsurpassed. John is a natural singer, sure I've heard hundreds of great singers but none compare to John's amazing talent. When I heard he'd been killed in a small plane accident I was taken to my knees, a talent like his can never be duplicated and especially his ability to write hit song after hit song, he was brilliant. Rest well John, you are loved by billions, God has you in his care now. ❤

I always find it difficult to listen to old familiar songs, deeply embedded in my heart and mind, being sang with a new slant. I appreciate, that the composer/singer must be utterly tired of singing the same old version, but it's the original version I fell in love with and I am reluctant to accept any alteration.
@newhopemedia6 ай бұрын
I not sure how your comment relates to this video as John delivered his songs pretty much as he always had during live performances. Of course there are production differences between any live performance and studio recordings for any artist but this concert was true to the essence of John and his music.
