He did indeed. It may be that these were his final recordings. He flew to Japan after and became ill a bit later. I've not heard of any later recordings than the final session of that tour which was at Bolton, Lancs.

What a great band. I would have been 2 years old and have loved Colman Hawkings since about 12. In 66 Steen Vig was keeping the flame alight for this type of swing…..respect if you still doing it mr Vig.

I really liked the performance of each of every artist in here. The drums with those lovely rythms, the banjo pretty happy, the clarinet with the melodies and notes soo amazingly done and the double-bass with the rythms that reminds me to the boogie woogie. Amazing song

On a slightly different topic, I've seen aircraft flutter on 27MHz FM, in the past. I used to live in the flightpath of Glasgow Airport and saw it regularly.
@johnpetters4 ай бұрын
@MM0IMC That would be right. Aircraft flutter is certainly present on 28MHz. The flutter on Howarth's signal on both bands I think is some multi path. I see it on most signals beyond line of sight on 144Mhz.

Very nice video John - really enjoyed it. When I was teenage G3ZZD I had a fabulous VHF QTH which sloped to the west. Used to work into Somerset and Dorset in flat conditions using 25W of AM (QQV)3-20A modulated with a pair of EL84 and a UM1 transformer and a Halo antenna at 20 feet on top of a larch poke,

Thanks Mark. The Chinese is made by Bronze, it was a sizzle, but the rivets fell out. I got it from Supreme Drums in Walthamstow, donkey's years ago. Mounted as a conventional cymbal.

That is great, John. I have just been listening around 29.030 just in case there was some Eu signals. I also will be trying around 21.420 over the next few months. Around 0830Z seems to be quite a good general time for Europe on 10m, perhaps a little later for 15m? @@johnpetters
