Best hour and a half’s entertainment I’ve enjoyed for a long time. Well done John.

Just fabulous guys. The best reflexions I have heard (and the first I have seen!) on great classic jazz drummers, and here commented by some of the finest drummers around. Very entertaining and interesting. I have been addicted to traditional jazz drumming for 60 years. Two of you i know and hve met; Josh and John. Hal Smith I have several recordings by, and we are friends on Facebook. Jack and Kevin I am happy to meet (on Internet and Facebook!) for the first time. The greatest spending of 1h 40min in a long long time. Thank you guys!

Loved the Cliff Leeman track Kevin.I would never associate BeBop with Cliff!!! There’s always a strong comedic thread whenever Cliff or George Wettling set to. There breaks are mini works of art.People often forget Cliff was the drummer on Buddy Holly’s final New York recordings with strings. A quite superb drummer!

@@MARKMANIATT Right---Cliff with Buddy Holly! Isn't he on True Love Ways (among others)? Cliff was just the greatest. His playing on "Eddie Condon in Japan" is so perfect!

@@kevindorn True Love Ways and Raining in My Heart. Somewhere I read Cliff was the drummer on the original Rock Around The Clock. Not so sure about that one though.

@@MARKMANIATT I know he's on The Saints' Rock 'n' Roll with Bill Haley.

Jan 2024 - I couldn’t get this video to play. Others on KZbin are fine, just not this one. I hope it is a temporary glitch…
