You should listen to his live concert version from the 80’s. The music and how he sings it will blow you away!

In this video you could tell the anorexia was taking it's toll on Karen it was so sad that back then she was on various shows all the time and we could basically see her just wasting away although it never effected her voice or how she carried herself. They would have her dressed to try to hide how thin she was becoming. But you could see her face and cheeks how sick she was. It was heartbreaking to watch.

Never grows old; simply & real musical talent, great harmony & Judith’s exquisite voice. Even up to their retirement from a few years ago, The Seekers have maintained that great distinctive sound.

Her voice is the best. Her acting was good too. "The Owl and the Pussycat" with George Siegal & Barbara was one of the funniest movies I ever saw.

I've always loved this song since my teens in the 70's and 80's, and as I now know I'm a far-out introvert, I can understand why! But the very idea should have been very strange back back when it was released. Still, very many must have felt just as attracted to the text as those who only reacted to the wonderful melody.

it's a very strong rockabilly sound that's hard to find i'd consider it to be a mix of southern blues (not so much country) and early west coast (beach boys type) surf also the bass is very deep, prominent and bouncy, which reminds me of a middle eastern camel train vibe; it contrasts with her voice, which sounds like a high speed dirt-bike or go-kart engine

So a man named Doc Pomus wrote the lyrics to Save the Last Dance For Me. He was confined to a wheelchair, I think from polio. He fell in love with a wonderful woman and they got married. At the wedding several fellows came to the head table to offer their congratulations & some of the gentlemen guests asked the bride for a dance. She wanted to dance but declined because she didn’t want to hurt her husband’s feelings and obviously he couldn’t dance. He sensed her discomfort and encouraged her to dance. She did. As she danced, Doc grabbed a couple napkins and being a songwriter began writing the lyrics. Listen again to the lyrics and you’ll see just how touching and beautiful a song it is. I saw a documentary about Doc’s life and that’s where I learned about this. He wrote a ton of hit songs.

I was 13 years old when this song came out. Back then, kids FELT things, because they had connections with people, and not a 3X5 "device" called a smart phone, where kids in current times can't tell real life from fantasy. I cried the first time I heard this song, and I cry today, 50 years later. Today, I cry because I don't think our youth has the depth of humanity to even understand...anything.

Tasha, I remember you did a Steve Holy Reaction a few years ago. Here's a couple of songs that I think you will like! "Steve Holy - Just A Kiss (+lyrics 2000)" and "Steve Holy - My Whole World (Acoustic version)" Also, I know you and T will dig "Steve Holy - "Fine and Shiny Pearl"

The premise is life is hard as hell and requires responsibility and sacrifice. There are free loaders who fail to understand this and/or intentionally refuse to take on personal responsibility as they expect the good life to be handed to them without putting the work in.
