@GinoandLaurensAdventures Жыл бұрын
It was the biggest for hundreds of years apparently. Verrry rare! 🥰 They probably have smaller seismic scale ones that we can't even feel but most countries do. I've been back twice since then and it was amazing! 💗

I was there for this earthquake. We were at the Gaia Palace Hotel. Growing up in Los Angeles, the quake itself didn’t worry me but I was concerned about a possible tsunami (which we did not experience at our part of the island). I did go to Kos city the next morning and saw the damage you’ve pointed out. I was amazed at the amount of damage at the sea wall and saddened to see the damage to old symbols of the city/island and to hear about the injuries and death.

Hi, we are using are solicitor which was recommended by them. Did you solicitor find something unusual in the documents? Did they provided with some sort of forms regarding cladding? like EWS1 form? And also I,m really worried about the hot water and electricity bills as we will have to pay on top of this for communal boiler @300£ are year .Thank you
@GinoandLaurensAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Extra checks, more in depth. For example my lawyers requested planning permissions for surrounding areas. These checks take at least 4 weeks to come through. We realised before signing papers that a school would be built a street down. Developers lawyers do the quickest checks and are recommended by the developer because they are fast. Ews1 forms we requested afterwards from our building management. Its free and easy to get. Hot water bills are very cheap. Compared to single occupancy boilers. Its been a real bonus!! A negative however is that our communal boiler has broken down regularly and leaves everyone without water for hours...I think it struggles to keep up with the demand. 💛

@@GinoandLaurensAdventures I'm so anxious at the moment ....as the lease at this development is 999years and no ground rent which is great news but in case of some issues with the building (all this cladding scandal is giving me hard time) we will be good to pay the bill . I don't know maybe I'm overthinking. Which solicitor did you used?

I really regret buying a house from Barratt Homes. The initial contact was great with the sales team and the finishing of both show houses my wife and I have seen was top quality. However since we had the opportunity to see our own house we have been greatly let down as the quality of the finishing in our home was MUCH LOWER that both show houses we had seen. We had numerous issues that had to be corrected and even now six months after living in this house we still have outstanding issues that Barratt homes say they will be corrected however they never finalized the job and stopped replying to my emails. In one particular issue I had to contact NHBC to force them to correct a problem that they insisted was within tolerances when NHBC proved they were wrong. I am feeling ignored and I believe I may need to contact NHBC again as Barratt Homes keeps ignoring my self as a customer and the issues that needs to be corrected. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!
@GinoandLaurensAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Wowww i am really sorry to read this! Well done for reporting and forcing them to fix. We are past our 2 year mark now so all fixes are our responsibility but before that our own finishing team was pretty good and quick. I think the fact we hired a new build surveyor helped them make us priority. It might be worth heading over to Linkedin and finding out the contact details of CEO, CFO, Executive assistants ect. Any complaints copy them in by email only alongside your usual contacts....just a tip!... I hope you get the repairs done as soon as possible. I have a feeling these property developers may be struggling now....Post covid.

Buy a basket for the first 3 months. Baby is tiny and want mama, baby will cry for 6 weeks so dont worry for now. Prawns and the rest after 3 months. Go easy so for now concentrate in your body and pregancy and enjoy. My advice is go with the flow easy one step at the time. What you are planing is lovely but for dont worry. The basket is mobile inside the house. The pram to take out Silver are the best ones. For the first months. , they have big selections which grown with the baby. Alternative basket inside the house and to mobileze with the baby carry the baby, i use prawns after 4 months. Baby too tiny. That is my opinion. Take it easy Lauren. Anita

Omg I think this is the best advice I have had so far! I like the idea of a basket and to relax a bit about 'what to get'. Every one has their own timelines and you're right about baby only really needing mum for the first 3 months! Thank you Anita 😊 🙏🏽💛

@GinoandLaurensAdventures4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say they are noisy no. You can hear footsteps only when there's running or something heavy moves. I used to live in a victorian maisonette so compared to that, this is heaven 😍 Its not completely quiet...it really depends on your neighbours 🙏🏽

Barrett Homes are notorious for negative 'attitude changes' when you decide to use your own broker and solicitors
@heartloveuk10324 жыл бұрын
Live, or should I say not live in an 80s Barratt flat.. Really good if you like listening to other neighbours at all hours using the toilet, footsteps, stomping around, slamming doors, sudden loud thuds etc etc... Also perfect for the winter. The cheap timber frame walls really do let the heat escape which ensures you pay WAY more for the heating bills. You'd probably get a much better quality of life living in a prison. Whoever is responsible for building these needs to hope that hell doesn't exist when their time comes... Still cannot believe they and other companies get away with this ..
