I have 2 wire coil on plug ignition coils. I tried 3 multimeters and could not find resistance on any secondary coils. I tried 200 ohm, 200k ohm, and M-ohm settings on meters. Still reading O.L. These plugs are 2 spark plug coils. I tried finding secondary resistance using every touch point combination available as well as switching leads in case of polarity issue or one way diode. Any thoughts? What am I missing?

Hello, I need your help, I have a kia sportage 3 1.6 gdi 2014, I disconnected the battery and reconnected it and now the central locking with the memory key does not work, the front led daytime running lights do not light up and the park sensors do not work when you put it in reverse. what is the error? what common fuse? please help thanks

quick question on a 2016 Nissan maxima 3.5 i have same code p0019 (CAMSHAFT POSITION B2 but it said sensor "B") on my data stream EXH/V TIM B1 = 0.00 DEGREE AT IDLE EXH/V TIM B2 = -17.00 DEGREE AT IDLE WHAT DOES THIS MEANS?

Likely that the main chain tensioner is extended and chain rubbing on the inside of the cover also. Just did one (all chains etc and o.e. phasers + (vvt solenoids) also 105k on it. Several resets after that is completed. I did an 18 pathfinder in vehicle. Yours will be more wiggle room maybe, tricky removal but possible w/o ac evac if careful around the hoses. Wrap with rags before a slice occurs.

Normally the exhaust VVT is locked at maximum advance when you just started the engine and when engine warms up, ECM will change the timing accordingly. This code is for B2 exhaust VVT, as you see on the live data, the b1 VVT is already different. Before removing the timing chain, you can go for the B2 exhaust VVT solenoid inspection. If that solenoid is malfunctioning, timing will not change and code will be set.

@@AutomotiveDiagnosis I have the EPS light coming on. When I get in the car it will be alright for first 10-15min drive. The after that I'd get to a traffic light or a stand still and then the power will completely turn off. I will have to start ignition again and when I do the EPS light will be on and the steering will be very stiff to use. I also feel when it is like this it's a lot noisier at the front, like the engine is shaking but not sure if that's where it would be coming from. Any ideas of how this can be fixed?

If i disconnect the battery then disconnect the power supply terminals to the MDPS “for electric cleaning” then reconnect the terminals and then the battery, the EPS lamp will be on? Or should i have to perform recalibration? Please advise Thanks

Hi there, normally if there is a major issue on CAN bus, there will be no communication between scan tool and that control module, I would start by checking the PCM connectors. Do you get any other simile fault codes in other control modules too?

I am getting the p0011 and misfire cylinder 1 sometimes and after running vat cleaner now im getting p0420 i just bought front vvt oem seems more power but still getting codes 2009 aveo lt hold light randomly flashes and its not getting right amount of power and oil smells a bit like fuel. Did oil change about a month ago any advice also it seems to do it more when engine is cold and also on start up I hear a noise from engine area for about 2 seconds and it goes away 😊 thanks in advance

Hi there, fault on VVT may bring the misfire fault code but it’s normally a random misfire not only for a specific cylinder. About the 2 second noise, it could be from the VVT mechanism itself which happens only when engine is cold and just for a couple of seconds right after starting, this is the VVT mechanism issue (not VVT solenoid). But you must be careful if your engine has hydraulic valves tappet, if so, noise might be coming from there before engine oil pressure reaches to the valve tappets. When you said you replaced the VVT, you meant the VVT solenoid or VVT mechanism?

Starting system is mostly the same, but you need to locate the starter relay first and confirm the relay terminal numbers.

Thanks for watching. This scan tool was Carman Scan but many other scan tools can do very same thing. It’s really depends on the type of cars that you are working on. This scan tool is good mostly on Korean and Japanese cars.
