My crv1 has a problem when traveling long distant the transmission gets hot and the speed redused until it comes to stop. I'll have to wait till transmission gets cool and the car starts moving again Please help me with your advise.

Those resistors are same I use for my wind turbine, you can get them from any wind turbine dealer, but your correct, I wouldn't use them, there are plenty of 24v to 12v converters that plenty safe to use.

I would look at the lines around where they connect to the raditor.. you should be able to spot the exit point if you add some

@@lastmanstanding6081 I found it the line from the radiator to the tranny came off I thought I blew the transmission but it's shifting better after I put the line back on :) thank you so much and my Honda is a beast at 190k she's still kicking like a brand new truck/suv :) most reliable truck I've ever had and I only paid 1200 for her :)

@@lastmanstanding6081 I have a 2001 honda crv and it just sometimes shifts hard only in 1st gear to second when first starting it up and driving. and sometimes the rpms stick high in certain gears but correct its self like 5 minutes later on the highway. But mainly it shifts smooth so i hope it just needs a drain then and the trans is not going out. yikes. mine only has 172k miles as well. i am putting Idemitsu atf in it and hope that solves it.

You dont actually have to remove them you just eliminate the power wire to it from the 24v bar on the drivers side

Stop going over 100 lol be nice to the lil 4 cylinders lol but yeah that's the last gear so it's gonna stay in high rpms at that speed

@himatsingh2576 I’m having the same issue but I’m at 80mph and the transmission is in 4th gear at 3k rpm, after holding the car steady at that speed, the transmission seems to drop to 3rd and rpm gets high, I have to stop the car and keep driving for it to go back into 4th again. Ten back to step on after it goes into 4th. What seemed to help you?

My HONDA CRV 2002 sport started thumping into the gears change & eventually it began slipping & now it won’t engage into 1st gear : I am trying the LUCAS transmission slip fix fluid & so far I have had minimal success : & when in drive it goes ok under 2000 RPMs : I also have the D light blinking at times : still testing now so I’ll keep this post updated if anymore success or fixing from the Lucas fluid :

Hi I have a Cucv as well and I have a question. I went to a guy to fix my lights because I had to run the high beams because my regular beam kept blowing out. So this guy put my truck to run on 12v instead of 24v he said it was blowing out the lights. But now I have a slow start and problem with getting enough power to fire it on. He worked on the alternators, new motor for my starter. New little piggie that chrome part on on the motor wall. So my question is should I switch it back to 24v?

The only part of the truck that sees 24v is the starter and the balast resistors. Your low beams should not be effected. The rest of the truck including all yhe lighting is still 12v

Hard starts can be a few different things. A burnt glow plug relay or air in the fuel line are the most suspect. You can jump the glow plug relay from the 12v side of the battery or use a voltmeter to test it for power. Your lights and your " ignition" system are not really reliant on one another

I just learned that if I turn the key to wait for the wait light. The two bottom left lights are not both on. Only the bottom left not the right on the dashboard. I have battery light bright as can be. But there is not power to push the ignition on.

hey, when downshifting from 2nd to 1st mine takes a second to do so, also going from 2nd to 3rd sometimes it takes higher rpms (around 4000) to change. only after the car is warmed up. what would you do with this?

Thanks, fluid seems to be the correct color and level and I have no lights on the dash for any solenoids. Though idk if they would for sure trigger one? It seems like the problem is mostly when I’m going up or down hills

@@kylemosurinjohn If its not the Honda DW-1 fluid, it could still be the issue. Honda transmissions in those Gen 1 and Gen 2 CRV's are really finnicky if they don't get the right stuff due to the way they are engineered. Mine developed a problem coming out of 1st into 2nd gear - like scary bad , almost a stall. I changed the fluid to the DW-1, and then did another change 500 miles later. This was recommended to me by a Honda tech, who explained that it takes some time for the internal filter to be cleared of debris and residue caused by the non-standard fluid. I also had my differential dumped and filled using the standard Honda dual pump fluid. Previous owner had some other crap put into it. Issues were resolved nicely. 2000 Honda CRV - 160k miles.

The starter is the only 24 volt powered item on the truck these resistors dumb it down to 12 volts for the glow plug system

Do you know anything about the wait light almost never going off? All I did to my m1009 was put leds everywhere except the wait light socket and gen 1 and 2 sockets, when it’s running it just goes dim I don’t get it.

Id say either the led bulbs are making it mad or your glow plug card is having issues..i have a push button for the glow plugs and no more wait light.. are you sure the glow pligs are working or is it hard to cold start?

Last man standing she’s a hard starter during the winter time and at the point the light worked, now it’s kinda just stays on, I put in all of the new led’s, different glow plug relay even tho it ain’t the one everyone said to get because as soon as I bolted it on my truck it would start, put the other one I bought on that was labeled start solenoid and it worked! I charged my batteries and put new terminals on as well but somewhere in all of that chaos that light decided it wanted to stay on idk what it is, it starts better than ever but that light bothers me, I want to do the mod that you did and I have the spin on filter to do next but that light... I hate it

@@TheRealWorldNews247 you would be lucky to have an electronic fault...the trans had 290,000 when i replaced it. Im pretty sure i broke it driving it under water... my mom has a honda van that sounds like the same issue that you jave and it ended up being an electronic failure and not the actual transmission so id say you have a 50/50 chance either way

Check the trans fluid level, never use non honda brand trans fluid. If you drain it and metal comes out the transmission you need a new trans.. i had to replace mine.. damaged one worked well till it got to operating temp.

Sorry my bad English can u explain one more? You meant that you removed the resistor and then connected directly plugs to 12v battery . This will remove the lag of starting. Is it right?

Removing the resistor eliminates a fire hazzard. Jumping the glow plugs is for when the relay is going bad. You do not leave the cable connected. My resistor failed on my and then the relay failed from getting 24v from the resistor.

That relay does not care what voltage it sees, the ass head... i mean dog head relay... is a MOWER relay that is 12 volt rated that has 24V going though it lol. All mine have the resistor never had a problem...

What happened was is the glow plug solenoid went bad and it fried the resistors. The glow plugs are a 12v which dont need 24v to run them eliminating the need to do so. Respectfully.

@@lastmanstanding6081 first the resistor failed and caused the relay to fail now the relay failed and caused the resistor to fail... the thing aint a fire hazard and works fine... telling people to do a push button is dangerous... swelled plugs can really ruin your day. I know what the plugs are, how the card works, etc... removing the resistor kills the card, push button is asking for swelling... but to call it a fire hazard.. the only real hazard is the start relay...

Definitely recommend doing the doghead starter relay mod before anything. My m1008 near caught fire because of a runaway starter. Melted a whole bunch of wires, ended up replacing a bunch of stuff. Just now having problems with the fuel and having to bleed it every time I start her up so I'm going ahead and doing the spin on fuel filter conversion. It'd be cool if you made more videos, I've seen a lot of cucv videos and this is definitely a good one man.

Nice. Mine has been doing the same thing. Just slightly off-putting, intermittent shifting weirdness. No slips. Bucks sometimes and slides into higher gears slower than one would like sometimes. I'll report my results once I do this.

@@samuelalzate8573 I'd say it did for sure, but I also had a dirty throttle position sensor that was causing issues in the same vein. I threw a code for that though.

@@DiogenesNephew that's good to hear. My 98 crv shifts fine except sometimes it randomly revs up to 4000rpms and back down. Mostly when driving slow first thing in the morning or driving slow after getting off the freeway. When I accelerate it seems to tug too.
