I define myself as a Thedish Heathen (AngloSaxon Paganism) since I use Old English for ritual, but the language's endonym actually isn't "Ealde Englisc" or something but "thiodisc/þeodisc" which is cognate with my Native German's endonym, which is "Deutsch".

"Word"'s etymologically is linked to wyrd, as is the word weird. Possibly showing the strength in the belief that your wyrd is tied to your words

Halló! Your video showed up in my feed today & I'm glad of it! I also have a personal dislike of using "shaman" & prefer to use Noaidi. I know most people won't know what that is or what it means but if they show interest I can explain a little bit about it. It can open the door to communication & sharing of culture information. 😊 Liked & Subscribed. Þakka Þér Kærlega Fyrir (Thank you very much!) 💕👋🙂

I love your statements and I have also witnessed this. Iwas called back to my Northern Spirituality in the early 80's. I was 25 years old. Since then, I have traveled many paths with people whom held to our Gods in their own rites. I have always been able to accept how they honored, even when they would turn on me for not seeing things exactly as they did. I have always known that there were many Tribes within our people, whom honored in their own way, and even on differing days from one another. Not everyone acknowledged Yule on the same day, nor in the same way. That can be said for all of our High Days. Not everyone of our Tribes had the same names for the same dieties and that is a fact. Did they reject one another for that? No. They had better reasons to fight amongst themselves. But not how we lived our spiritual beliefs. The disdain among us must stop, that is a fact. To take this even further, in how much I honor everyone being called back to our ancestral ways, I don't care if they are Folkish Tribes or not, it matters not to me. As long as they are not inundated with hate at the same time they are Folkish, I do not care. And ya know what? I don't think our Gods care either. I would love to see a huge Moot called for all Tribes to come and share camaraderie and mead over a warm fire. All of the Gothar together, holding one gigantic Blöt. I RAISE MY HORN AND HAIL THE GODS OF THE NORTHMEN!! ALL TRIBES, UNITE!!!

Remember who brought the aesir to scandinavia and the vanir war, and the compromise of combining 2 religions 2 sets of gods and 2 stories bc no one could genocide the other. The yamna people that invaded from the east sure mimiced their gods in mindset and action theres no doubt there, and they were extremely successful as they went across lands wiping out everything in sight until reaching scandinavia where they finally met their match. We have zero male western hunter gatherer dna in us, only mitochondrial, they left no males at all alive. To some this is attractive, the empire building and genocide of others, the success and riches. The belief that in the quest of knowledge and power, anything goes and nothing is taboo. The way of Odin. But I think also, they were kind of assholes and acted like christians and muslims spreading like a plague by force, and we dont like them now do we? We dont say Hail Allah and the Ottoman empire! For me, I see it all as valuable lessons to get, good and bad inspiration, but to devote myself to the aesir no way, their hybris is not something I will kiss ass to, I respect but I dont crawl and I remember Aesir are as native to scandinavia as Allah is

I don't really like labels but if I had to put one on myself it would be an Eclectic pagan. As I take things from many different paths and use them in my practice. While a lot of what I use comes from the Norse and Celtic traditions. I have also used things from shamanism. I find being an eclectic pagan to be absolute freedom as we can use what works for us from any path and disregard that which doesn't work for us.

The largest problem with Asatru is that noone reads the academic work. The people who do read the Eddas interpret them througha political lense. If I have to read one more person saying thoe gods are inclusive because Odin dressed as a woman to learn seider ill lose it. Loki brings it up like an, and uses that, as an F-slur to SHAME Odin publicly. It was shameful for a man to dress as a woman. A sentiment reflected in the law codes which sugfest a woman could divorce her husband for being to girly

Thank you for your time given, I walk up to trees and can project through them and meet beings and land spirits and all sorts of things, i dont use any techniques like this, i use the horse rune, or other runes to open gateways and spaces between spaces to fold my consciousness. also a series of shapeshifted forms, often ive just looked to my right or left and one of the Gods is standing with me, then things get really really intense and its quite emotional, i wind my senses up in ritual to get to that state, with trees i seem to to more of a seidr merging step through reality, im only basic at it but i can see beings, externalize my internal dream state/vision state and fold it out onto my external state and see it over lapping over this reality like im watching two or more lenses, often i have many overlapping 'screens' or 'layers' , teh only problem is remembering how i walked in if it gets complex and getting back out and shutting things down properly. ive met teachers on the other side and been able to lead pp to their own, exorcisms i have done, real crazy ones too, i didnt even know i could do them, and how detailed it all is including all the parts of it, its all natural like its happening to me. i was scared for ages that i was going mad, tears, ordeals, pain, shattering my body and mind space to bend me through, its been truly hard, but equally rewarding beyond expression. hail to the might stormwind, hail Odin

I see myself as simply heathen, and was just because I knew that the old norse didn't connect only with the Aesir, this is a modern thing, and even this thing of faith in some deities as the base of "religion" is something kinda modern too (it came with the christianity), the ancient people were far more about the rites than the myths, indeed the myths came after the rites to explain them.

Hi new to your Chanel love your videos! One of my favorite experiences I’ve had was walking in the Bosque. I went out with the intention to connect with Odin and his wisdom for some guidance in that I was on the right path. I was also collecting some herbs and flowers as an offering later that day, when I saw 3 wolves directly across the river. It was amazing one of them stayed and just stared at me for a while, I also had my dog who normally would bark at any animals in the area, but she was very clam and was also just kinda looking at them. Very cool experience .

Vinlanders like yelling "cultural appropriation", and this is what they mean 😂 it's ergi. It's insulting to Norse, it's insulting to Eastern cultures. No one depicted anything like this, not a single find. Not a single reference. Not before, not after. Argr. It's a good thing you're not standing in my aura, or I'd kick you in the chakras 😂

Oxford and Cambridge have similar definitions for shaman: in particular religions, a person who is thought to have special powers to control or influence good and evil spirits, making it possible for them to discover the cause of illness, bad luck, etc. Here's Cambridge on Cultural Appropriation: the act of taking or using things from a culture that is not your own, especially without showing that you understand or respect this culture: Cultural appropriation is the definition of what you're doing to my English language, Vinlander 😐 Stop it, it doesn't belong to you. Speak Vinlandic, or something 😂

That's one thing I know absolutely nothing about manipulating the web of wyrd. I class myself as a shamanic vitki as I practice core shamanism so I can make it Germanic, witchcraft mainly hedge craft with the use of some ritual I was taught and the elder futhark and the use of galdr and rune magick as my foundation. So yes I'd love to see something about how to work with the web of wyrd and the Norns.

the main problem I face as a non-Scandinavian heathen is the racism of some practitioners, I come from arab parents and I don't think I have any Scandinavian DNA in me, I haven't done any tests and all clues to my lineage actually point to me being one of Muhammed's descendants but I don't wish to follow Islam ! I believe in Odin and the old gods more than I believe in Allah yet the gatekeepers of the far-right told me to never try and find a Norse pagan path since I don't come from a "suitable heritage" according to them, what should I do ? do I keep on and keep my prayers and path despite that or is there really some truth to their words ? they say Odin would NEVER associate with anyone who doesn't have a Scandinavian heritage or at least "white" heritage
