Hey! awesome video, really great info. I got the prompter myself and set it up yesterday. I use it on windows 10. i use it for displaying my stream text and also for text. Issues i run into so far is i cant get the voice sync to work. It says inactive up in the right corner all the time not sure what im doing wrong. Else i love this prompter! Can not wait to work on getting better at this. I love everything from elgato they are really awesome and high quality. Elgato echosystem ftw! Have a great day instant sub!

It's a shame you cannot view the prompter screen on your computer while using the software. If i'm filming with a client I have no way to see what part of the script they are on and whether I need to speed up or slow down for them.

I found that my personal thumbnails work best for attracting viewers. This is on wide format only. Whereas on shorts thumbnails are not needed, as most viewers are clicking through, or swiping sideways. Currently I have 3 channels, and the music channel rolls over consistently, whereas I have two religious channels, and the views have been dying. I have tried absolutely everything. I made the mistake in the beginning of having combined shorts & longform, and the shorts killed the longform. I then split this channel & found that my shorts took off, whereas the long forms stayed around 0-3 views only. What was really ironic was that both these channels have lots of subscribers, but they are not even clicking on these new videos. I had checked what worked to draw these subscribers, but it appears that the algorithm is not even recommending these long form videos at all to my subscribers. I thought I had been shadow-banned, but not so. It seems that YT has moved away from supporting small channels with wide-form videos. Someone has suggested that you have to pay to have an audience???

Yeah, there are some things I wish I knew before I bought my setup. Hello, I have a problem that no one is talking about. I had 2 calls today with Elgato tech support and they could not help me. My setup is the Elgato Prompter, Facecam Pro 4K, Wavelink Software, Elgato Stream Deck Plus and I also used a Black edition of the Blue Yeti and downloaded OBS and nothing helped. My video looked terrible. It was as if I had AC running and I definitely did not. I also downloaded the Elgato plugin that is supposed to stop clipping and background noise and it did not help. The whole set up is counterintuitive and seems outdated and difficult to use. I would really appreciate and help and suggestions that you could give me. Thanks in advance.

I bit the bullet on this one today because I absolutely loathe recording dialogue due to always having look back and forth at my script. I was hesitant because of the price, but the massive overload of positive reviews of this thing made me took the plunge. It comes next week, I hope I'm not disappointed. Hi Tommy how did you fix the Mac getting disconnected issue? Also Mac OS do not work with Elgato camera hub as it is not finding the product. I also have issue on the light from the Elgato screen that reflects light to my camera. I haven’t really been able to use this without problem. Thanks for nice video!

Hey Winnie! I havent had a lot of problens with the prompter disconnecting. I leave it connected all the time. But if ive had some problems, i have just restarted camera hub. What mac are you using? I have a mac mini m2 pro. Everything is working on mac os. What comes to the light reflection, i just turn the brightness down on the prompter, from camerahub :)

There is no such thing as "easy mode." KZbin is hard. I wish more content creators would support each other. I've started watching people's videos (from start to finish), liking them, and leaving positive comments. I know how difficult it is and how much work goes into creating content and not getting a lot of views. I think you are doing a great job keeping people positive.

I actually watch videos also from start to finish, because I dont believe that the value is in the intro, but rather in the whole video and I am interested to see the whole video usually no matter what subject! How do I do it when my content is about nature and the stories, myths, and legends around it? I usually start with a strong statement and keep my hook and intro under 30 seconds, at most, two or three sentences.

Hi man, there is many ways you could do it. You have for instance listicles about 10 different spots. You could try and say ”you’ll never believe whats the most beautiful spot”, or something in the lines of that. But of course it is wise to check the retention graphs from yt studio, and see if the beginning is ”the problem”. But the curiosity thing can be implemented anywhere in the script too. I cant lie, KZbin is hard man, even if ive studied and researched what works and what doesnt and what should be done. It’s difficult to get views, even if the video itself is amazing.

We are having issues with it lagging 2-5 minutes into the recording. We have the M2 Pro with 3 monitors in total plus the prompter and are recording to computer. We have our elgato prompter connected through a usb hub and wonder if that could be the issue? I am going to purchase a usb c cable to bypass the hub to connect directly to computer. What are your thoughts.

Hi Gerald! I do have the prompter connected straight to my mac without a hub. I have a thunderbolt hub also, but I am not sure if I've ever tried the prompter there. If I remember correctly, the manual said that dont use a hub, so I might not have even tried. The issue you are explaining is exactly the same issue I have, which fortunately the voice sync fixed. Are you saying that you have the problem with voice sync enabled? If I try to use the "normal" scrolling feature it is impossible and starts to lag maybe 2-5 into recording. Just now I recorded a 10 minute stretch with voice sync enabled and everything went smoothly. I have the M2 Pro mac mini, and I do have some other issues with it once in a while mainly the memory, while editing, seems not to be enough somehow. But that's not related to the prompter i guess. I would suggest you try to connect it straight to the computer, I am not sure if the monitors are taking up too much bandwidth from your usb/thunderbolt ports. If you have also 4 usb-c/thunderbolt ports like I do, I believe they are grouped like 2 and 2. So 2 ports share the same bandwidth but I might be wrong about it.

Does this teleprompter work on a Sony ZV-e10?

Yes it does! I have used it a lot with the sony zve10. If you use other than the kit lens then you can attach the camera to your tripod and the prompter straight to the lens. But with the kit lens you just use the included mount to attach your camera to to the prompter itself. Then you put the prompter on the tripod. I have switched to a cheaper camera (zv-e10 --> zv-1f) lately and it doesn't have changeable lenses but i attach it to the prompter and it works great too!

Yeah you could be :) many people watch the first 5 seconds only and then decide if they are continuing or not. And this happens throughout the video too, believe it or not. It’s quite frustrating sometimes!

The Prompter is fine until I actually start recording. When I start, it immediately becomes choppy, freezes, slow, and doesn't advance the text smoothly or at the speed it's supposed to. The pedal is also useless in this situation. But it only happens once I hit record. How can I fix this?

Hi Mike! That's exactly the same lag I have even with my M2 mac, but it doesn't start immediately, it takes minutes to start lagging and be problematic. Are you recording video to your computer or to camera sd-card? If you are recording straight to computer and you have problems, it might be that there is not enough power in your computer. I gotta say I am not a computer expert so I don't really have a proper answer. But I do have an idea, you could use the prompter in display-mode as another screen, maybe open a word document with your script, You could read from there. Yeah, you need your mouse to scroll the document but you wont have any lag. Unfortunately that kind of defeats the purpose of a prompter in my opinion. The voice sync fixed the lag for me, I didnt know that you need to have atleast M1 mac to be able to use it so that is a bummer in my opinion.
