In my humble opinion, bag mitts teaches you to punch properly and develop important bio mechanical habits while punching for an extended period of time. I always felt that you must take more responsibility and be more sensitive on how to time and grip your fists to protect your hands when using the traditional bag mitts. This also conditions your knuckles and wrists to meet the rigorous demands of the sport.

In my country Ecuador, much places are selling soft soccer balls (handcrafted) to heavy handcrafted soccer balls with net. Others doesn't have net, only plastic bag.

What ounce are the heavy bag gloves 8 oz or 10 oz?
@toffeebear7133Ай бұрын
Sparring gloves offer protection for the opponent, bag mitts protect your hand. You can go ham on the bag with bag mitts a lot more than with traditional gloves - better protection for knuckles. At least that is my experience

I was thinking about an old photo of Dieselnoi Chor Thanasukarn wearing thin bag mitts posing with his belt while watching this video. I asked my coach if I should punch with bag mitts and he said ABSOLUTELY! He says they teach you which part of the knuckle to hit with, strengthen your fist, and allow you to train all the parts of the hand needed to throw powerful punches consistently, safely, and with power. I'm gonna get me some today! Looks like I do know a bit of sh-poop about boxing now! Thanks Punch Professor!

The believed truth behind the Heavy bag gloves was designed for Punching accuracy and also help with technique. Not just throwing punches but rather the proper technique in Not only throwing a punch but knowing how to snap the wrist right while getting behind your punches and also helps with power punching aswel. Understand with this type of glove is if you Punch the bag wrong you truly feel it in the wrist. Hence why the fundamentals of the punching bag use less padding so you can improve wrist control aswel as getting the body behind the punches for more power. All the greats named in this video were some of the greatest display of power punching in there time💯

Very insightful video. You are a student of the sweet science and I agree with you on the point that anybody wanting to learn can improve their punching power. However, the phrase of punchers being born is based on the genetic advantages that they were born with. An untrained and uncoached Usain Bolt is still faster than 90% of the population, because he is genetically blessed. That's why all the heavy weights say the Ernie Shavers was the hardest puncher. They all can punch hard and they all train hard but Shavers just seemed to have genetic gifts that made his punching power unique.

The only issue i have with your style is the control, if you train hitting a solid object ( i trained with a tree) it will bounce back and hit you. This would be very very difficult with your two hands technic to master. otherwise great vid.

Only pair of gloves i own are thin old school bag mitts. Precision, hand conditioning, wrist conditioning, tendons and ligament conditioning, punch feed back. Knuckles become solid and you learn how to punch like a mule with fists like marble. Great video sir. Thank you.

Thats real neat. And i think quite a natural sort of training tool. I actually made something fairly similiar when i was a kid, cause wemy family couldnt afford alot of equipment plus i liked the idea of old school homemade training stuff like in rocky 5 or old jackie chan movies and such. And my Father always emphasised implementing training and strength building into hard hard physical work. ( and probably just liked us working hard for him haha. But it worked and beneficial all round. ) I love the double end bag but this may even be better at some aspects. Only thing is whether theres many places we could get a bag like that from? (And i dont think even everlast has one of those platform's at the local sports store haha)
