Thank you so much! I've long since completed my GCSEs and A levels and am in the final year of my English lit degree but I still find myself absolutely stumped sometimes when I have to analyse poetry, this channel has been immensely helpful. :)

Is it possible that the line "...old man to have had so much blood in him" could relate to Macbeth saying "better for the blood to be on the murderer's face than in Banquo's body" in the Banquet scene (4.3)? and also is it possible for this to relate to blood as a symbol of affection in Lady Macbeth saying "make thick my blood"?

Words can't explain how thankful I am for these and your other videos on Macbeth! I'm still in year 9 (going into year 10) but these have been helpful as they've allowed me to create many flashcards on them and understand the novella/play better. Your videos are straight to the point; you've accurately selected the necessary quotations and meticulously and diligently analysed each of them. Thank you!

Good day to you sir, I really like this poem for its mysterious vibe rather than its meaning but I have always been puzzled by the 'wind'. I see it often interpreted and translated as air current but couldn't it be a twist or turn in life as the rhyme would tend to suggest? Just debating for myself if 'wind' is indeed a poetic liberty or not... Maybe the interpretation I suggest doesn't fit here for chronological reasons? Since this poem is almost four centuries old I suppose it's difficult to be certain. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

How did holinshed claimed that James himself believed to be a descendant of Banquo. Holinshed died before Macbeth was created. Is Banquo an other figure in history. Sorry if its evident or if i didn't understand something cause im not an English-speaker.
@MarkBirch9 ай бұрын
So sorry - my fault! Holinshed didn't claim anything about James - that would be anachronistic! James regarded himself as a descendent of Banquo (a real historical figure) identified in Holinshed's Chronicles.
