The Moon does not rotate so fast as the beginning of your animation suggest. from earths point of view, we see the same side of the Moon, since its rotates around its axis at the same (angular) speed as it rotates around the earth. So we don't observe the ("synchronous") rotation of the Moon. As for the craters the figure shows: indeed the are on the Moon, but much more on the far side of the Moon (for reasons that are linked to how the Moon originated, probably after a collision of another kind of planet with Earth). It is as if the Moon always shows herself from her best of 'purest' side to the Earth. And since Earth rotates much faster around her axis than the Moon does (24 hours compared to 29,5 days, or 23h56 minutes compared to 27,3 days), it is as if Earth is shy, wants to look away, doesn't stand the gaze of the Moon. However, in a few million or billion years in the future, Earth and Moon will be bound to each other: the rotation speed of the Earth will continue to slow down, until it has the same rotation speed as the Moon. At that time from Earth we will not only see the same side of the Moon, but from the Moon one will always see the same side of the Earth. And only at a specific place on Earth the Moon will be seen. Both planets will be tidally locked. Of course in the meantime other things might/will happen so the livability on earth won't be assured anymore. As in the paywright, humans will be dead before observing the consolidation of 'final marriage' of the earth and the moon.
