Extremely musical composition, (or is it an improvisation?). Appositely chosen notes with nothing surplus to requirements.

Malie Rozine of late ole neils concerts courtesy of utubes commercials some obscure having my attention returned some roots taking hold upon teen entry years.. fondness of canada north as a teen whence i noticed quick to keep up with jones' middle class clerical level mangagement and middle class parties in general caught lets buy cottages bug.. within three-ish years this rush netted northern communities noticeable to my eyes my ears lying in fields lessening of formerly more often seen, heard, song birds and other aves as owl species aside egglaying snapping turtles doing their job along county roads and or deer crossing or moose grew a rarer sight thru that feild nudging its young to jump past fences heading from a swampy area back into wood several idle fields from an old farm house in which i stayed .. it saddened.. i wrote about this aside beaches closing within that span .. increasingly polluted .. signage read ..swim at own risk.. from swimming safe.. then my eyes blinked and a newer sign read ..beach closed-no swimming-polluted as bullrushes took over shoreline formerly pop spot to drop-in to dip nearby county high+western tire outlet edging into town blessed via one movie theatre..

Crazy to think Neil wrote this song at 15 years of age after hearing the story in history class. 15 yo and writing tunes like this. A legend

So few recordings of this song of Neil and the Bluenotes, thank you Christopher for capturing it. I saw them in Toronto. Love this song.

I was at the show and recorded an audio tape, but I didn't record this video. But I got the video via a downloaded torrent and uploaded it here. Similarly, I uploaded a video of Sixty to Zero (acoustic) from the Aug 18, 1988 Toronto CNE show.

Blows my mind that I would see him for the first time some 10 days later on 8/29/88 at the tender age of 4 years old 🤣. Dad had me sneak in a tape recorder. Thanks for sharing!

There's an indy artist in Connecticut that just started doing a Neil Young solo tribute show and it's absolutely amazing how much he sounds like Neil, even on his own original music. I've never heard anyone whose voice is this close to Neil's. He just posted a video of a full performance of the show (he calls it "The Loner: The Music of Neil Young") he did at a small club in Bridgeport, CT. See what you think. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXzOpZmCYrmbgdE

I wonder how can Anthony Phillips make a living if he does not tour ? I do have many of his solo albums and of course, the two he did with Genesis. He is so talented.
@mikearchibald7449 ай бұрын
Most of his career was doing film and television music so that was his main living, then in later years he did 'library music' which are like loops but longer, and then as those were sold off he made money off them, as well as the album sales. According to an interview he did the nineties started the run on library music so the cash built up so that now he's richer than Phil Collins! I'm kidding, but he's not begging in the streets.

Based on what he's said on interviews, his Genesis royalties have been a staple that allows him the freedom to do whatever he wants. Its also the reason he's never gone after "Trick of The Tail" royalties even though he added parts to it, as he's happy with the first 2 album business agreements and values the friendships and does not want to rock the boat over money. A true artist!
@LuisCorro-qy1sf2 ай бұрын
@@KeithSchwartz-g2j Thanks for commenting my post. I did not know that he added parts on the "Trick of the Tail" Genesis album. I really like his music and have several of his solo LPs and CDs. I know he has played on Camel albums and also Steve Hackett among others. I would like him to record a album together with Steve Hackett, ,Andy Latimer, Steve Howe, Gordon Giltrap, or Marillion s guitar player Steve Rothery, among others.

Great, but not the greatest. A different class. Ten Years After wrote the best. Better than Zepplin, Standing At The Station has it all.

I agree zeppelin is good, but why knock Neil he is one of the greatest, still alive today 2024, and still playing at 78, like he’s 48! Seen him at Bristow Va. may 11 2024, Great concert was worth every penny. Gotta love the horse!!!
