ofcourse many of you know this : Increasing front teeth makes the bike accelerate faster with lower effort but loses on top speed. Dropping the front teeth makes the bike accelerate slower with more effort but achieves better top speed. low effort = low rpm and vice versa. OEMs tend to find the balance between two and hence 15T in front. 17T would probably reduce top speed to 150ish kmph which becomes bad for some people

Good video, don't sweat the small stuff. Take anything to ten shops and you will observe at least 5 ways of doing things. I have developed my own ways over the 40 years I've been wrenching. I would be more worried about breaking loose the crank bolt first even though that's not a big deal. As long as the cam on on the low side how it gets there is irrelevant. The engine will rotate slow speed seamlessly either direction. No cam chain or adjuster issues. I wouldn't think to even ask the factory knowing it doesn't matter. My stuff, my way. Any detrimental effects are on me.

I also discovered the manual says the front sprocket nut is 32mm and it's not, it's 30mm. The manual should definitely be taken with a pinch of salt by the sounds of it!

Those tubes are made to adjust height in rhe fork clamps.Put them level and the bike becomes more stable at road speed. A bit slower steering but better for stability.Add 5mm of shim to preload and a ounce of 10w40 and the bike handles great.

You could have just used a longer inner spacer tube. Common trick from the aircooled Triumph from 2000 to 2015 using the longer spacers from the Thruxton/Scrambler on the Bonnevilles.

I had the same problem undoing the 8 mm bottom bolts. They are really tight, a nightmare.. I adapted length of angle iron and used it down the inside to stop the damper rod rotating. Worked OK but I know there is a special tool available. Trouble is it will not get enough use for me to bother.

Bought these after seeing them in your video, I'm not disappointed! Out of all the budget enginge guards they look the sleekest, not too wide or tall, don't block off the clutch case cover if it has to come off at the mechanics. I used the original thick washers on every part over the smaller ones, the bolts reach far enough into the nuts to make it work just fine (should they come loose I'll edit my comment).

It is nice then this pipe are "big bore" but end of pie which is connected with muffler is "small bore", diameter is reduced, this not make a sense....The laws of physics apply, a pipe has as much permeability as its narrowest point.....

Great video. I'm in the habit of using a little liquid gasket to help hold the RE tappet cover gasket in its groove. Let it set before refitting the cover. Much easier to align to the cylinder head fir a good fit. Well done! 😊
