I was pretty cautious at 20mm you could probably do a touch more without troubling the lines if you wish.

Hello Dorman, I am writing to you from the Argentine Republic. Could you please tell me what size the Allen screws are at the bottom of the bars (here we usually call them "bottles") of the fork? Thank you very much in advance.

Hi Dorman, Great video, can you help me source those spacers?? i would like to go with a 30mm spacer. Pl let me know if you can help me out with it. Thank you

Hello. you use oil suction tool insert into the fork shaft.I want is know how many the length of the pipe while sucking oil. Thanks
@DormanDiaries2 жыл бұрын
Hi - I did 130mm but I’d fitted spacers and such. I think mine could possibly do with a little more oil though so may reduce to 120mm.

Another great video. I don't know if it was mentioned before but the Himalayan forks do bolt-on. Which also would raise the front along with alloqwing more travel.
@DormanDiaries3 жыл бұрын
Thanks John, yes a gentlemen mentioned on my last vid about someone fitting the internals. I contemplated fitting the whole forks but I'm not a huge fan on the look (extending past the axle) They look a bit skinny or something even though stanctions are the same diameter. I want to keep as standard looking as possible whilst getting some more clearance. Whilst I would still like more ground clearance its starting to get a little tall for little old me!

I really enjoy watching these videos and the industry of owners who love to modify and change thrift bikes to suit themselves. But just wonder his that effects your insurance do you tell them it’s modified does it matter what happens if you claim. Just wondered. Great stuff enjoyed it.
@DormanDiaries3 жыл бұрын
Glad you are enjoying. I always tell insurance. Some are useless and don’t know what you mean by what mods, but most with a good bike team are switched on and helpful.

Hi Mate. Yep 22. Easily undone though even with an adjustable.

If I'm just taking the damper rods out, do I need to remove the seals? do I need to disassemble the tubes from the bottom casting? Thank you for this video and dammit if my seals aren't weeping oil now, as I check them again.
@DormanDiaries3 жыл бұрын
You could get the damper rod out without removing seals but you can't get to the spacers without removing stanchions and therefore seals. Why do you want to get the damper rod out only? I would also be concerned about lining the spacer up if you did remove the damper rod only. Hope this helps.
@-thirteen3 жыл бұрын
@@DormanDiaries because I'm drilling them out for emulator valves.
@DormanDiaries3 жыл бұрын
@@-thirteen ah i get ya. Best thing then if you don’t want to pull the seals is make sure the stanchions are kept pushed right to the bottom when you remove the damper rods that way the oil lock/spacer will be held in place.
@HaggisPower3 жыл бұрын
Just drilled the damper rod ports on mine. You can leave the seals in - the spacer can be shaken right way up easily enough… just use a torch.

Can you tell us what size socket would fit over that tool you made to hold damper for in place whilst undoing and reinstalling? Can't really tell by your description of 1 1/8" (across flats or points)

Fantastic work. Out of interest, why don’t you consider the RE gaiters next time you change them. They seem decent quality.

Thanks Vishal, The RE ones look a bit short. With the increased travel and dropping the forks through they wouldn’t be long enough.
