Hey Chris! Just loved your PP on my ZV1. Was struggling with HLG and SLOGs, and then found your video. Your PP settings gives the best image! Also subscribed to your channel. I have a question tho - You mention in your webcam PP settings for Google meetings as a Cine2 with Pro instead of Still. Why do you use Pro there instead of Still? (In my experience Still gives better results over Pro - also the reason why I love your PP because of the 'Still'). Please help me out with this and hope you get a used ZV1 and continue making videos on your experiments with this beautiful small compact camera. Thx!

Great information. Recently I needed a second camera for a project I was doing, and my main camera is an S5, the original, and so I found a gh5 on ebay for $475 and I grabbed it, and I am astounded at how good the footage looks coming out of that camera. I even bought two cheap micro 4/3 native lenses, a TTartisans 17mm f/1.4 and a Meike 35mm f/1.4 and they both look incredible. Cheap as hell, too. Kind of freaks me out a little bit that the quality is so good. :-) But anyway, the gh5 is an incredibly powerful tool, and so I'm sure the gh7 is all of it too, but like you, I never use autofocus so for me the S5 is an incredible camera and yes, micro 4/3 is alive and well and matches the footage in my s5 just fine when shooting log in both. I also shoot 99% of the time with vintage glass, and I have been able to adapt all of those full frame lenses to the gh5 now as well. Which is pretty cool. I have anamorphic lenses for my s5, but they're L mount so I can't adapt them, but if I'm shooting anamorphic, I just use my S5. Thanks for sharing.

@@ChrisFlores22 lol, now you are getting closer to my position. I'm all about shooting with the Metabones on a MFT. More stops of light, reduces the crop factor, utilize my EF glass, and now auto focus. There is the couple of challenges that go along with it as well. 1. More glass in front of glass - I think with today's lenses and sharpness that is not an issue, 2. Another device needed instead of native mount, and 3. Another potential failing point. I think the advantages out way the challenges.

But having AF and turning my 2x crop camera to a 1.2x crop is so amazing! For me, If I filmed interviews with mft, Id definitely use the full frame glass and metabones XL. for handheld work, obviously is unbalanced but will provide a closer look to full frame minus dynamic range. Its interesting for sure and we are spoiled to have so many options now lol Ive got a whole sigma ef kit and olympus pro kit. lol

Really good insights Chris, thank you for sharing. When I was shooting weddings I used GH5 and 2 X GH4s and did everything manually, very rarely did I miss focus. I didn't even shoot VLog I just set in a picture profile that I thought suited the location so practically no colour grading. The clients always were amazed with 4K footage and didn't think anything about the small set up. The other thing m43 allows you is small footprint for your total package: I took a Temba Cineluxe 21 bag with me (43 cm long, 25 cm high) which housed 3 bodies, 2 X 40-150 Olympus f2.8 lenses, a Voigtlander 17.5mm, a Panasonic 12mm f1.4, an Olympus 12-40 f2.8 (workhorse) lens and even had space for the Olympus 7-14mm f2.8. The BS1H is such a great system, the two monitors are interesting strategy to keep menus hidden and record onto the external monitor... However, the thing I don't love is not having XLR inputs with the camera, would love to see how folks are rigging a Zoom F3 or recorder onto the rig and feeding into the aux back to camera.
@ChrisFlores225 ай бұрын
So you can rig the f3 or to the back of a top handle. The issue I ran into is that it needs to be powered by a different power source other than the vmount powering the camera because when connecting the audio into the camera there’s a ground noise that’s only solved by using a separate power source. Personally I don’t like using aa batteries so I used a battery bank and it was pretty easy to rig. I sold the bs1h and replaced it with an eva1. And I don’t even use the xlr lol I use it for on cam audio but use a f3 for external audio.
