David Lee Roth was the best front man for Van Halen. Eddie is the best guitarist, but had a bad side. He was mean to DLR.

Culprit played a show at my high school in 1983, ( Ingle Moore / Kenmore ) I WAS hooked ! When Culprit broke up, I ended up being a bass tech for Jeff's new band called Mistrust. LOT'S of memories ! RIP Jeff Jeff " Groo " Hubbard

"When Sam was in the band it was kind of a nostalgic thing"- Dave always thought the universe (and the band) revolved around him. To say that Sammy was unhappy as part of Van Halen is completely disingenuous. Van Halen sold 30 million records when Sammy was in the band. Eddie and Alex summarily dismissed Sammy to get this narcissist back in the band.

Poor Dave. He really got duped for the Greatest Hits album and we lost a chance to see them together live during that period. A 1996 Van Halen tour AND the reunited original Kiss in concert? The mind boggles.

I’m confused…..this interview is after the 96 vma’s…..Dave had to have known…..that Eddie was pissed for Dave’s actions at the Vma’s???

It was so unfair how Eddie essentially used Dave to give the greatest hits record gravitas. Dave was so pumped here, not knowing the ax would fall

Looking back at these old videos, I realize how obnoxious Robbin was. She served literally no purpose except a cover for Howard to make jokes about black people.

They all seemed difficult but as much as I love dlr he has to take the blame for being mad at Eddie for having hip surgery. Wish he'd been more understanding and/or Eddie had been able to take one out-of-bounds comment.

He is a great entertainer but not a good vocalist.. Back in 2015 when I did the reunion tour everybody was shocked and says oh wow Dave fell off he's not a good singer anymore... He's always been that way .go back and listen to the live shows from 1984 he's Always sang every third or fourth word....

Give the guy a break… nothing wrong with asking for an autograph.. I’m sure Dave didn’t mind. Stern should never have made a spectacle of it… even if he was trying to create a scene for his audience.
