Let's not forget how beautiful Vince was and still is. He lost his daughter from cancer and he went into a depressed period that comes and goes. Too many people are making fun of others because of weight gain. Believe me, no one _chooses_ to be fat and miserable and if they do , they are lying ❗

Damn I wish I was alive to experience the 80s. The best decade for old school heavy metal. The 70s were great too but the 80s just seems like it would have been the coolest time to be a teenager/young adult if you’re into heavy rock n rolll. I was born in 92 and feel such a sense of deep sorrow that I wasn’t around the experience the time when heavy metal ruled the world.

@H4I2I2EE5 жыл бұрын
I think the same but I might be bias. The 80s was cool for rock cuz there was the "hair metal" in the early 80s and then the thrash metal in the mid/late 80s. Any band now is just mimicking/copying from back then IMO, whether they realize it or not. To me, the only thing that compares is the grunge of the 90s but that was sorta just leftovers from the 80s.

I remember exactly when I first saw the SATD album. I was in music class and our teacher encouraged students to bring something for the class to hear so we could all listen, analyze, comment on, etc. A friend of mine brought the album as it had just come out and I saw that black cover with the pentagram and that image has always stuck with me. I looked at the front for at least several minutes, then the back, opened it up, as my friend kept saying "Just wait until you hear this". I still to this day can not remember what song was played in class. I just remember seeing that album cover. But for some reason, the teacher also played The Beatles "Eleanor Rigby" that same day and I have loved that song ever since. Of course I love SATD as well. ;)

I was there and Tower, ironically, was next door to our church. My dad and I spent a lot of time in Tower. The 80s was the best:the Colliseum, the Arena and sometimes the Kingdome. Decades later, working in LA, I met so many of these guys at the Rainbow, Whisky and Viper Room. Man I miss the 80s.

Man, those were the days! The 80's sure was a great decade, and the music kicked ass! All the more reason it's so sad to see what a lot of Sunset Strip bands have become today. Who broke up, who got too old to play live, who died, who's sick, etc. These bands have all become shadows of their former selves. It sucks to get old, but my God, those were some awesome memories of awesome times!

@napalm940 Same here. In the early '80s, my parents used to question my "taste in music" or question the metal posters and pictures that covered my walls, as well. They, too, thought it was "part of being a teenager" (or in my case a "rebellious" teen!) and that I would listen to more "mainstream" or "popular" music as I "matured" (??). Well, on August 30, 2010, I gonna' be 40 and I'm, STILL, listening to metal music and "classic" or "old school" rock, in general.

It was a old acting Studio..But it changed to a Concert Crowd Control Company..I walked inside and A lady said Hi you come for your interview?I didnt say anything and she said sit down they will be ready in a few..I was just standing because I didnt even know what the company was..I was walking down the street crying because my girlfriend left me..So I sat down and the Lady said so are you excited to work in the concert and event field... I herd concert and said sure..just then a guy walked in saying you must be jim..I said Nnnnnnno Im Gary..He said well time is money and jim isnt here so come on your next....I walked in a room and then I saw what I have seen before..At concerts there are the security dudes that have on these blue shirts that say EVENT STAFF...I had just walked in a dream come true..Long story short...I became one of the BEST Security at Concerts and became a Supervisor of crews of up to 50 to 100 people...I worked there for 10 years then became a stage builder for another company .Then went into being a Rhody and hung out with Neil and the boys from MOTLEY CRUE.....I dont know what made me walk in that company that day but it changed my life.......O ya and to LYNN the Bitch who dumped me,,,,,,,,,I have LONG HAIR and leather-and have friends from big bands....YOUR LOSS BITCH,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
