I was told there was some confusion in the comments to this piece, and it's clear that it's hard to understand this clip in a vacuum; it is one tiny part of a 4 hour exploration of an Integral Metatheory of Conservatism. The broader backdrop is my essay on The Great Release, which explores the ongoing breakdown of the world system and its move through an adaptive cycle's Release phase and into a coming Reorganization phase (it's 100 pages, feel free to grab it online for free if you're interested in understanding more about the structural-systemic dynamics that we're living through right now). In any case, the election that just occurred is a revolt to the system regime that has defined American hegemony since the end of WWII, and in particular to the last 50 years of neoliberalism, which saw a supranational capital holon supersede and repress the interests of the domestic political holon through decades of globalization and financialization, in turn wrecking the social contract and fueling reactionary populism (and not just in the US, but in all of the US client states). This is typical, we see similar patterns of late stage financialization in all of the major hegemons of the past 800 years (Genoa, Dutch United Provinces, UK, US). In any case, this particular clip has as context the idea that Harris would have been a weak but status quo mode of reform that largely maintained the elite financialization, and even though it's not cognized as such, at a deep system level Trump was voted in to destroy and reorganize it to a new form of functioning; he is clearly a form of upwards panarchical Revolt in the adaptive cycle of the holarchies above.

Thank You Robb. As someone who was critical of this clip (though I did contextualize in my first comment that you could have been clipped out of context), I appreciate your response and feel like I have a better idea of where you're coming from and find it more sane than I originally thought. I would add that I agree with this statement of yours; however, it would seem that you put a lot of emphasis on Harris as "Reform" whereas the word "Weak" in "Weak Reform" really is doing the heavy lifting of reality here. "Weak Reform" is really another way of saying "drag out the problem" and I think that's accurate. I think including the viewer commentary about "well... the young kids will see what a fuck up the American Voters were" did you no favors in contextualizing your comment. I'm not sure why you left that in the clip given the already occluded context. Given how weak Harris is in her "weak reform", I'm not sure that using the Revolt / Reform Polarity to frame your discussion did you many favors either, but I get where you're coming from now. Thank You for clearing that up.

The dangers of psychoanalysis are exemplified in this video, as the president is almost cancelled by the pronouncement that he may have NPD. NPD is vastly different than narcissistic style, and generally is from trauma in the first 3 years. Ive dealt with cptsd from a narc parent. This video shows how dangerous the expert class is without actual humble morality. I've been abused by an NPD parent, and the president elect is not that, yet it is far too convenient of a smear in these times for integral to resist.

We're going to get the collective experience we want and many want a utopia or dystopia to prove themselves right. And most people would rather be right than be happy. For some reason I can't let go of the metaphor of Millennials stacking plates for the server at the end of a meal. It's something we just do and we'll continue to do that work regardless of what happens. Like any shadow work, we have to wrestle with our collective pathologies. Individuals go through a deconstruction and I suspect we'll do the same collectively. We just can't do so in a way that doesn't destroy our foundation but not deter our willingness to question it. I have a framework that coincides with development about our core desire. The desire to be welcomed. The desire to be loved. The desire to be protected. The desire to be remembered. The desire to be rewarded. The desire to be accepted. The desire to be needed. The desire to be harmonized. The desire to be unified. I believe Green post-modernism shifts from the desire to be rewarded to the desire to be accepted, which awakens a relationship to vulnerability, grief, and shame leading to humility because accepting and being accepted will become more important. This brings about a whole new realm of sacrifices. We had a cultural post-modern awakening in the 60s and now that transfers to structure. But we've gotta sort our pre-post fallacy first, which will be unintended positive effect of DJT installing many red people into his cabinet so we can collectively clearly see the difference just we did on the liberal side with things such as cancel culture. All of that to say, we are where we need to be.

Integral Life needs to break out of it's Professional Managerial Class bubble. Robb has no idea what a morass of nonsense he lives in. Biden just tried to start World War III and he's calling that administration the "Staying in a Democratic & Reform Oriented Paradigm" The Trump coalition WAS the Reform Paradigm. Biden/Harris was the path of REVOLT from every American Idea that we hold dear. But it's under the morass of mainstream media propaganda designed for the Professional Managerial Class, the very class that Robb fits into and he's taken the bait hook, line, and sinker. He even takes on the language of the clergy class as a way to sound like he knows what he's talking about rather than looking directly in the face of the censorship industrial complex, the military industrial complex, and American De-Industrialization. .... yet Trump is a "Monarch" What a joke. Arrogant as Hell, Robb. The constitutional crisis is the permanent bureaucracy that will not even allow the will of the people to move forward. Are we democratic republic? .... or Oligarchy with extra steps? Grow Up. Integrate Your Perspectives. This ain't it. Turns out Integral Theory don't matter. You can get a PMC to believe anything as long as you fluff their ego as being superior to the rednecks. Yet, the rednecks were smarter than you on this one.

Obama's legacy is Trump. The 'hope and change' never happened, the reforms of wall street.. the regime change wars never stopped, nothing happened. So desire for change was only delayed. The notion that Trump has NPD is questionable, since he doesn't display many of the characteristics of the type. Btw there are arguments about Obama being NPD (even by people on the left), that one could consider too.. The idea that this era could be a protracted period of democrats being in the wilderness i don't doubt, because it's likely they will learn nothing and triple down on what isn't popular and what doesn't work., because after all, they know far better what is good for the people than the ignorant rabble... don't they.

My main observation would be that regardless of intent (or perhaps because of it), DEI, in practice, has been almost exclusively negative, destructive and regressive. Comparing concepts such as 'Equality of Opportunity' with 'Equality of Outcome' and surmising or implying that some sort of ideal middle ground exists may be misleading. If I imagine a world in which Equality of Opportunity has been maximised for all and one in which Equality of Outcome has been maximised, it is clear to me that one of those worlds would be a decent place to live (for most if not all) whilst the other would be an intolerable hell (for most if not all). I remain unconvinced that forging a 'dialectic process' in which these polar opposites are integrated is beneficial.

Have you played Spore from the makers of The Sims. @IntegralNakedАй бұрын
I have! I would make the case that Spore could have been a basically-Teal stage game, at least as it was conceived - not only in the way they include multiple evolutionary stages, but how they also tied different gaming genres to each of those stages. Sadly I don't think they stuck the landing very well - each of those different gaming genres were executed in somewhat lackluster ways. Perhaps they were just biting off more than they could chew, trying to do more than was really possible with the technology of the time. That said, I would LOVE to see a modern remake of Spore, because I could definitely see it becoming an incredible "meta-game" that integralists would totally love!

Spot on analysis. Do you support election reform advocacy for ranked choice or score voting?
@IntegralNakedАй бұрын
Corey here - absolutely I support ranked choice voting. It's part of my "3 point plan to save democracy" 🙂 1. Repeal the 1929 Reapportionment Act, and implement something like the Wyoming rule, so that all House representatives are representing the same number of people, as the House was originally intended. (This effectively fixes the electoral college without needing a constitutional convention, since the number of E.C. votes is partially determined by the number of reps in a given state, which makes the E.C. allotment for each state much more proportional to actual population size and distribution.) 2. Ranked choice voting in all 50 states, which eliminates the spoiler effects that naturally lead to the two-party duopoly. 3. Mandatory service for 18-20 year olds, sort of like a Peace Corp/National Guard, which would help promote healthy nationalism, while also putting rich kids, poor kids, white kids, black kids, young men, young women, etc. in service of something greater than themselves. It's notable that the nations with the highest quality of life on the planet, almost all have some form of mandatory national service. Thanks for watching!

This analysis represents a flaw I see regularly in integral analysis. One way to describe this flaw, in integral theory's voice, is to say that the polarities of objectivity and subjectivity are not harmonized. They are not in balance. To use another frame from integral, in the same way that 'integralists' critique post-modernists (i.e., green) for throwing away all hierarchies because of the bad taste dominance hierarchies have left in their mouth, here, he throws out subjectivity because he thinks objectivity tastes better. But his stance as objective because of his understanding of integral is incorrect. He does not understand that his analysis starts in the wrong place due to his incomplete worldview and his subjectivity. To start with a critique of DEI after centuries of oppression of marginalized people doesn't offer the analysis the world really needs, no matter how eloquent he attempts to sound. If a person is hungry in front of me and all I have is a candy bar to give, do you critique me for giving it? You can critique DEI, but it is what we have to fix the problem for now. Why waste your time on this? Fully critique the problem, racism, not the partial and incomplete solution. Likely to this, you will respond that you have critiqued racism. But your critiques there, too, have the same flaws as this critique of DEI. They assume an objectivity that an understanding of integral alone cannot imbue. You need to consider fully the cultural and historical context, including your own. And in this case, especially your own. I will note here that a feeling/belief of objectivity is a symptom of white supremacist culture in the US, where white people, white men especially, assume they can be or are objective when they are not. I have not seen a sufficient analysis of how racism affects the majority of white people. Who has asked the question if whiteness is serving you? How does racism oppress white people? What has racism denied you as a white community and as individuals? How has it, and how does it impinge on your efforts to wake up, grow up, clean up, and, in this case, show up? I wonder if this man thinks his work here represents allyship of some sort to POCs and toward the growth of humanity at large. Does he think he is showing up for something worthy with this analysis? I am not sure why he chose this topic. Maybe it is due to a focus on trends because DEI is in the news. Or maybe he considers himself conservative. It doesn't matter. Either way, this analysis is not potent because it leaves out the necessary elements to understand this issue more fundamentally. This work makes a mistake that many analyses that are unaware of whiteness make. It thinks it knows more than it does. It cannot admit and maybe does not even know that it, too, is subjective. I have heard Corey Dewitt make statements wherein he rails at the idea that his whiteness limits his perspective. When a white person is not listened to because they are white, it is problematic because all perspectives are not being heard. Therefore it is not integral. But I think you are forgetting the next step. One has to rate these perspectives on partiality after they are heard, and whiteness is partial. In the short run, I encourage you to listen deeply to Beema Sharma, a frequent contributor, when she suggests that it is not 'you' that is growing and developing in awareness. It rather comes from the same impulse that moves plants towards the sun. I don't suggest that you lack *some* awareness or perception. I don't think that is what she is saying either. Rather, I think she wants you to let go of the *identification* with the notion that you can fully perceive issues or even just more fully perceive issues because you know the integral model. The model is not the territory, right? What I am saying is that there are blind spots in you and your panels because of their whiteness and maleness. They are too racialized and gendered. And I think Beena wants you to know that without getting kicked out of the clan. But Beena is acting like many people of color around the privileged. She knows you aren't ready yet and will throw a tantrum at the idea that you are still ignorant in some ways. But your ignorance stunts the world if you represent its best hope for development. Look, let me be clear. No one is saying you are bad. What I am saying is that who you've been told you are is a lie. Whiteness, like all dominant worldviews, holds an unchallenged notion of being something outside of the personal. It thinks it is universal. So taking an impersonal, or objective stance only seems natural. But again, you were you were lied to. You are the personal, as are the rest of us. The real you, your person, is just as good as the rest of us. You just don't know that real and good person yet. So I recommend that you do a bit more work on the left side of the quadrants before stepping into identities again.

I think that everything boils down to the way we make decisions, as are we using logic / reason while being open to experience, against makeing decisions using emotions / whim / subjectivity. On the other hand, we evolved to use our instincts ( herd thinking, halo effect, primal fear ) and that prevents us from making rational decisions ( like taking drugs, becoming a thug, shooting 9 year old girl ). So, i think tha mindfulness can solve a lot of issues, but only people who are high on consiusness levels will be interested in mindfulness, while other will have to grind their way through.
