For the price it’s great. I got the 11” to use as a tablet/mini laptop so there’s days I strictly want this as a tablet. If I ever want to use the keyboard functionality, I don’t want to spend $300 to use that every now and then. For $300 I can get a keyboard case, a folio type case, Apple Pencil pro etc etc and use them all in different ways.

I think you should be ok. It’s pretty tough!! Certainly a short time in the rain should pose no problems…it’s a washable item, after all. Leaving it exposed to the elements for a long time might be an issue, though…not sure. You might want to ask RhinoShield on that.

Do a Pencil Pro test of a 45 degree line using a ruler (to eliminate hand movement) to see whether the line is perfectly straight or has wriggles. I have not found a glass screen protector that doesn’t affect angled lines, they are always wriggly. Only film screen protectors give you perfect angled lines.

Brent, I have to agree with @dccd3237. To an extent, you get what you pay for. I've used a lot of ZAGG screen protectors and I've never been disappointed. Never had a crack or break or anything. Of course, my usage is not typical. I'm very careful with my devices and I tend to change out my screen protectors more often than normal because of needing to review another product. But still: ZAGG screen protectors are great if you can afford the price. Easy install and great user experience. And it's nice to know that the limited lifetime replacement warranty is there if you need it. 😊

I have the ESR shift case. Will I need to change out the iPad case or can I use the same case between the shift and either keyboard by ESR?
@TheTechReviewer
@TheTechReviewer 2 күн бұрын
Hi @dojan! Tragically, neither the Ascend keyboard case or the Rebound 360 keyboard case will work with the inner case from the Shift. They are all mutually incompatible. I think the reason is that the design of the products requires the magnets to be in different configurations in order to meet the design specs of the cases. That's the only reason that makes any sense...I doubt ESR is doing this just to torture you!!

Hi @CASTET777! Totally get your point. The Magic Keyboard is a fantastic product...super lightweight, great magnets, no need to charge or pair. I love mine! But it is very expensive and perhaps a bit out of some people's budgets after they have paid the big bucks to get the iPad Pro M4. So I think the ESR Rebound 360 is an option to consider. Plus, you do get additional protection for your iPad Pro with the Rebound 360 due to the inner case, and you also get the option for a few different iPad orientations. Thanks so much for watching, and have a great weekend!

Thank you for your video regarding the keyboard for the iPad. I appreciate your prompt response and assistance. I wanted to share my thoughts on the keyboard. While it is quite nice in many respects, I have encountered a few issues that I believe are worth mentioning: 1. **Weight**: When the iPad is attached to the keyboard, the combined weight is significantly heavy, making it less portable and convenient than I had hoped. 2. **Magnet Functionality**: The magnet does not seem to work effectively without a cover, which limits its usability and functionality. 3. **Viewing Angle**: The viewing angle could benefit from more flexibility. It would be helpful if it allowed for greater adjustment to achieve a more comfortable viewing experience. 4.**Pencil Magnet**: The magnet for the pencil is quite weak. When the pencil is attached to the iPad and the keyboard is opened, the pencil often falls off, which is very inconvenient. Also I feel the touchpad slow how I fixated
@TheTechReviewer
@TheTechReviewer 2 күн бұрын
Hi Mohamed! Thanks for sharing your Rebound 360 experience! I totally agree with you on the weight issue...it's bulkier and heavier than Apple's Magic Keyboard. As for using it without the inner case, that's not supported for the 2024 M4 11 inch Rebound 360 version (but it was for the 2022 11 inch version). Which iPad Pro version are you using? You are right that there are fewer viewing angle options with the Rebound 360 as opposed to the Magic Keyboard...the cantilever design doesn't work quite as well. I didn't notice any issues with the magnetic attachment for Apple Pencil Pro, however...I wonder if you got a defective unit? The same goes for the touchpad...mine seemed fine. You might want to reach out to ESR. Thanks so much for watching, and sharing your feedback. And have a great weekend!

The 13" version of the shift is $20 more, so I went with the rebound. I don't use my ipad on my lap so that feature is useless for me. The rebound is heavy enough, I don't want more weight that the shift brings with it.

That hanging flap on the Rebound (seen at 3:27) bouncing around is a hard deal-breaker for me, as is the finger print issue on the inner case, plus overall wobbly construction. Got the Shift instead and it is awesome; so versatile. Magnets work perfectly. Very stable and secure in all tilt positions. The inner case fit is the most precise and responsive I’ve seen so far for the iPad Pro 11 (M4). The added weight of the combined system is insignificant to me and the slender, removable inner case more than makes up for it anyway. Also when all together the Shift feels really safe and secure for the iPad.

Hey for the iPad Pro 13 inch would you reccomend esr ascend or rebound?
@TheTechReviewer
@TheTechReviewer 9 күн бұрын
Hi @gamingvariation1323. Nice to hear from you! So, I don’t have the 13 inch iPad Pro 2024, just the 11, but I imagine the accessories for the 2 products are pretty similar. Other than price, I think that the one area where the Ascend is going to win out over the Rebound 360 is weight. And with a bigger iPad size, everything is going to weigh more, of course, so weight differences may be even more important for the 13 inch than they are for the 11 inch. But weight and price aside, I think the Rebound 360 is the better product. With its cantilever design, it’s much more similar to the Magic Keyboard. Nicer keyboard feeling as well (although smaller trackpad). Hope this helps!!!

Great video, I was curious on the magnetic case on the hybrid case. Is it able to magnetize to like a refrigerator or other metal objects like the shift case or no?
@TheTechReviewer
@TheTechReviewer 10 күн бұрын
Kind of.... The magnets on the Rebound 360 Hybrid case will attach onto a metal fridge, but not as strongly as those on the Shift. When I attach the inner case of the Shift to my fridge, I can immediately tell that the connection is strong enough that I can leave my iPad Pro stuck on there without worrying that it might fall. With the Rebound 360 Hybrid, I don't have so much confidence. It will stick on to the fridge, but I'm afraid that over time, it might start sliding down.

Oooh I'm also interested to know. I own the rebound keyboard 360 case for my M1 iPad air but I want to interchange the outer cover when I don't need the keyboard. Is the inner case of this compatible with the Rebound 360 keyboard case or is the keyboard inner case compatible with this outer folio cover?
@TheTechReviewer
@TheTechReviewer 11 күн бұрын
Sadly, no. So far, I haven't found a single inner case that is compatible with an 'outer case' that it didn't come with originally. Between the 2022 iPad Pro 11 inch and the new 2024 M4 iPad Pro, I have 6 ESR iPad cases and none of them has parts that are usable with any other case. At first I was irritated, but once you start thinking about it, it does kind of make sense. For example, the Rebound Hybrid 360 inner case has magnets that are positioned to allow it to stick to the outer case in portrait and landscape, but because it is a clear case, there can’t be any magnets in the middle. And the Shift case has to have the special magnets to allow it to get into that elevated landscape as well as regular landscape and portrait. And the Rebound 360 inner case has to be able to have the lower part of the inner case separate nicely from the outer case when the cantilever stand is pushed back. That’s just my guess as to why they are all incompatible, though.
@kunfushun
@kunfushun 5 күн бұрын
Opportunity missed by ESR. I would love to switch easily between a simple folio and keyboard case easily as I don’t always want to carry it in a heavy keyboard case at all times. Especially releasing a few different types of cases with the same rebound 360 name series.

@TheTechReviewer
@TheTechReviewer 11 күн бұрын
Sadly, the ESR case parts are not interchangeable...at least none of the ones I have, anyway. The magnets are positioned differently...very frustrating! The Shift won't play nice with the Rebound 360 keyboard case, the Rebound Hybrid case, etc... As for propping up the inner case in a temporary drawing angle, maybe you could do that if you closed the Rebound 360 Keyboard Case and then propped up the inner case on the closed keyboard case? Not sure if that low of an angle would be of any help, though. Alternatively, if you already own the Shift case, you can try putting it at the lowest typing/drawing angle, without the inner case, and rest the iPad Pro, in the Rebound 360 keyboard case inner case, against this slightly angled stand. The magnets won’t attach properly, but it will rest there in a reasonably stable manner. Again, though…it won’t be magnetically secured in any way to the Shift case…it would just be leaning up against it.
