"Birthright is like blazing blade while conquest is like new mystery of the emblem" And revelation is like echoes/gaiden which have too many gimmicks and horrible level design.

I don't particularly care for Zephiel as a villain either, though thats probably due to my dislike of FE6 as a whole. One theory for why he changed so much was that his assassination attempts lead to brain damage that changed his sense of morality, in particular the poisoning.

Also, I don’t think her statement is all too ignorant, Ike *did* kind of just stampede through, create a power vacuum and fail to address it through his own disinterest in politics. While Ike isn’t solely responsible, I’d imagine it’s the fact that he’s worshipped as a hero that would push her further back into her stance of hating him as a counter to the narrative he’s only done good

Narcian is a pretty central villain for more than half the game yeah. I'd also say Arcardo is pretty important for a good chunk of the game. Especially since they both are supposed to exemplify the corrupt nature of humans that Zephiel hates so much.

I have to agree with you even though i love Zephiel originality and to teach us about misanthropy and nihilism but the issue is explained throughout this video. It should showcase through the game with his past and why he dove further in misanthropy and if he had more screentime and more discussions and his presence more frequent he would at least be more intriguing and even his plans and build more of his "threatening" villain status. Also perhaps have soliloquy of his misanthropy and psychologically horrify our protagonists and Roy about his thoughts on humans and for his thoughts on dragons perhaps he sees them as gods so makes them above humans in his jaded and underdeveloped motive and view. He is the main antagonist next to Idunn so he should be more present through the story Elibean Nights had the perfect explanation and story telling about his extreme misanthropy. Heck a video game i am developing has a zephiel type of villain but with more depth, presence, interaction as one of the main villains and with more "justified" and horrifying endurance to the life they had. Thanks for your video

There is one thing I like about birthright more than conquest. And that's the creativity of the builds. Fates as a whole IMO has some of the MOST fun unit building out of any fire emblem game thanks to all of the wonderful skills you can get. Paladin Sakura, Close Counter Vantage Takumi, Ninja Silas, and so much more! There's more of an incentive to reclass units in this game than awakening. While I love conquest for it's stronger level design. It doesn't give you as much freedom due to the limited grinding. Therefore, it's difficult to be able to build every single unit the way you want to. Birthright however gives you FAR more grinding, which encourages the player to come up with more creative builds for your units. And that's why I like it so much! Also, yes Ryoma does trivilize birthright lol. You can mash end turn and win with him EASILY. However I typically reclass Ryoma to give him more creative options so he's not a crutch. Since there are better ways to use him (shoutouts to bad at life for coming up with a great build for him). Also, since Ryoma joins kinda late, you don't get to abuse him AS much

Awakening was my first game but now it is not even in my top 3 probably not even top 5. SoV, FE8, 3H, FE4, and PoR are probably my favorites in around that order but FE8 and SoV are really close and swap back and forth between being my favorite. My actual favorite game is Sacred Echoes, which combines the two sort of. It took me quite a few years to try older games though. I was casual mode only until probably 2018 or 2019 then started trying older games preawakening in like 2020. Now I have played every game outside Archanea.

The stigma that Birthright is meant for newcomers comes from the pre-release info dumps, specifically 4.1.2015 Nintendo Direct. They very specifically state that Birthright is better for newcomers in second pre-release info dump. It is very intentional. They do also state that it's designed more like a traditional Fire Emblem.

So, based on my no-grinding, hard mode experience: Galeforce is insanely good on exactly one or two flying units, since it allows the flyers to be problem removers (Galeforce Cordelia did an excellent job clearing archers or mages safely), but it is exp-prohibitive on any unit which is not already a Pegasus Knight. However, it's basically free on said units to pick up Galeforce and reclass to Falcoknight for the stat boost. Admittedly, I like my flyers and really enjoy being able to outmaneuver archers. Sol, on the other hand, has a bad habit of letting me down and I often compare it unfavorably to evasion skills, especially when said evasion skills are so free to get. Sol just doesn't heal enough consistently to justify attempting to tank hits you normally shouldn't. I will give it props for shrugging off chip damage, thus saving Physic staff uses but this isn't a game where chip damage is the problem. The problem is the one or two enemies with high damage that manage to roll well on hits. That's not taking into account that Hero, while not being an overly tedious class to go for, is absolutely not free. There's plenty of cash, even with missing some chests and some bad hording habits, so Mercenary's Armsthrift isn't necessary and Patience is generally a worse version of Myrmidon's Avoid skill. Fighter, on the other hand, I find so bad a class that I can't even use Vaike except as a backpack. And bypassing those by reclassing at 10 promoted effectively makes it a level 15 skill anyways. All of this at the cost of an actual level 15 skill, because Axebreaker is a wasted skill slot for the Hero class due to its already fine evasion and not having any axes it needs to worry about. I like Sol. It's cool and sometimes leads to amazingly ridiculous moments, but Awakening just isn't the game it shines in.

That's clever, in a sense with dry sarcasm from his father to permit and to get his "approval" with a front hoping he gets slain on the battlefield in time so no blood isn't om his hands and some random brigand or monster would eliminate him and it would take care of his problem. But their should be 2 outcomes in the game just in case. Like the true ending if he lived and the "bad" ending at his death where they were given the news The King would celebrate at his son's demise

Potentially one of the most underrated Fire Emblem games to date. If you can get past the limitations inherit from the game engine, the story is extremely charming with great dialogue if a little bloated. Since growth rates are low in this game, none of the maps are made around it, focusing more on weapon utilization and proper positioning. The only downsides are that its questionable if the entirety of the story will ever come out considering Kaga's age and this being a passion project made with a small team

Even as a fates defender, there are serious issues with its weapon system. You discussed forging, so I won’t talk about it, but the weapon system is still poorly balanced IMO. Notably with regard to higher ranked wpns. They suck, S- rank ones especially. The downsides are simply way to great to make these weapons useful. It’s even worse because in fates weapon level is an absolute slog to raise, so why would I even bother wasting so much time to get x character to B rank lances when a silver lance is a side grade at best? IMO, higher tier weapons should be upgrades, not side grades. The silver lance should be strictly better than the iron lance, because it should be a reward for getting a character to B rank lances. Fates S-rank weapons are some of the worst in the franchise, with only Excalibur and pursuer really seeing use. It doesn’t help that only specific classes can use them, and even than it will likely require grinding or planning far in advance to achieve S rank in a given weapon type. If fates were to receive a remake, the weapons system would definitely be the main mechanic I would focus on improving.

idk what it is with FE fans and grinding. Just don't grind if you want a challenge? People do this in many other RPG's and not to mention there's multiple exploits to grind up a unit even without an open map. Not to mention, most the games can be beaten with 0% growths so I find the whole xp distribution thing to be overrated. Towards the end of most FE games on my first playthrough I grind the crap outta units with all the reinforcement spawns or with arena + support abuse combo lol

Speaking as someone who prefers Conquest and hates Revelations, Birthright is just...Birthright. It exists. Middle of the road entirely, I just don't care for it in any capacity. It's not as tough as Conquest, and it isn't as mind numbingly frustrating as Revelations, but nothing really draws me in when I try to replay it. I've even attempted silly shit like Sky Knight Sakura, sort of like a Wyvern Elise, and it's just meh. The game probably isn't bad, if I could remember what it was like, but it is what it is

I beat Camilla's chapter by using Ryoma with a Corrin backpack and some healing items from the convoy. He absolutely trivializes the game if you let him. It's not on the level of Chrobin, but it can still be done, even with the pair up changes. I only properly used him on one prior map, and it was with an E rank Katana to make sure all he was doing was bringing enemies down to low health, any other time was as a backpack, and often he was gone entirely. A nearly minimal-investment Ryoma was still capable of enemy-phasing a late-game map with only the help of a guard stance bot and some snacks. I didn't dislike Birthright but that part about Ryoma broke my brain. Personally my defense of Birthright would have focused a lot more on the amount of creativity Fates' systems afford you when the game isn't as hard as Conquest. Birthright is a game where you can get away with Azura marrying Kaden and Corrin marrying Selkie to get a total of four Nine Tails units, and I think that's hilarious in a good way. Additionally because skill design is generally better than it is in Awakening and Pair Up got changed to be more consistent and less powerful, this ends up being a more interesting game to do that kind of stuff in than Awakening. It genuinely is a game I'd recommend to a newcomer if they're not interested in something hard off the bat because it's a decently-paced sandboxy RPG with 30ish party members and several elaborate systems for skills and reclassing.

the unit sandbox in this game is my second favourite aspect of it behind the art direction, i once made a Spear Master Corrin that one-turned Anankos (this was Revelation, not Birthright, but the gameplay is similar enough). the class balancing allows for an Avatar of any class to be viable while also preventing you from becoming overpowered without serious effort (like with that Spear Master) and i very much adore that
@dutczar5436
@dutczar5436 3 ай бұрын
I think the problem here is "consistent" soloing, and also factoring in playing for fun and using multiple units. My first run of BR was on Lunatic after hearing it's so easy, and I was underwhelmed by Ryoma - if you play the conventional way of deploying everyone, and using Corrin and Ryoma seperately (since they're your best units), Ryoma is constantly on death's edge if he's facing even a third of the dozens of reinforcements in the final maps. He has a very good chance of surviving with dodging, Vantage Astra + crits, but it still felt as if Xander was facing 1-4% crits against all enemies. If Ryoma gets attacked by 5 enemies with 10% hit, skills and shield gauge aside, he has a 8% chance of getting hit more than once, for instance. This is less of a problem if you are willing to reset, especially if you rush the bosses and retries take a few minutes (and admittedly, you likely won't even have to retry), but, that's obviously not how most people play, and I wasn't very eager about resetting after 10-20 minutes if I sent Ryoma to solo a group and he just got a bit unlucky. I also just, didn't want to reset in general, even early on into a map, but that's just me. He's definitely low-investment, you can use tonics every map or add some evasion via other means (I used mechanist Kagero backpack, which was probably not as optimal compared to ninja...unless I did reclass her later?) to make him far more reliable. But most people probably won't stack too many of those on a first run. I did also start Revelation recently and he got hit by a 10% hit from a fighter/berserker, losing half of his HP on his very first fight. And he generally got hit more than he should've in BR even with WTA, so I might be a bit biased, and also paranoid against low% crits/hits in general.

Finally, someone with a brain. I started Birthright semi-recently and am now about halfway through Conquest. I honestly loved it. It has it's flaws sure, all games do, but some of the things talked about like you mentioned are blown way out of proportion. Hell some were straight up lies. One thing I heard was that it's never specified ingame why Nohr started invading other kingdoms, when it's explained exactly why in chapter 22 of Birthright. I didn't hear this one very often but heard it nonetheless. Stuff like this makes me question if people actually hate Fates, or hate the version of Fates they made up in their head
