Hi Torbin, the trumpeter is Bob Coassin. He’s from the USA, like Wayne Nelson. He’s had a stellar history, including playing for Frank Sinatra. That came up in a documentary about JF. More details on his Wikipedia page. If you ever watch John’s version of “That’s What Love Will Make You Do”, Bob plays a cornet solo straight after Angus Burchall’s drum solo. It’s the fastest and best I’ve heard for a long time!

First time watching, I have to say if you love this sort of music then you will love Soothe Me Jimmy Barnes and Sam Moore. This is Sam More from the old group Sam And Dave he is 86 when he did this with Jimmy and Jimmy was 66 about 2 years ago. Then there's Jimmy Barnes singing Cry To Me. Finally you have Australia's 2 greatest ever singers, Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham, singing when something is wrong with my baby Live. Any of the 3 live performances are great and are all far better than the recorded version. Cheers mate have a good one 👍

From an Aussie, it's great that you're falling down the John Farnham rabbit hole. Suggestion for you. Please do a 'reaction' video to the Beatles song 'Help- Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra' from 1989. And 'You're the Voice' from the same concert. You're going to be very pleased you found it, and it was recommended.

Have been to many of John’s concert and never came away disappointed. You were never just an audience member you felt you were part of the show. A true entertainer, even the last time I saw him at a charity event after our horrific bushfires,he was 70 and still as amazing.

I love the backing vocal arrangement on this song. John released a live album "Full House" that included excerpts from the "Chain Reaction" tour and from a previous tour. This particular live album had his rockiest hots from 1987 onwards. He did release another live album later on (Anthology 2:1967 -1985) but it was mostly easy listening, but still great vocals.

I saw this tour when it passed thropugh Nw Zealand. Jack Jones and Phil Buckle from Southern Sons were an inspired choice to replace John's former guitarist, Brett Garsed. The Chain Reaction tour setlist was probably the rockiest I've heard from the band . Jack jones played some fiery guitar on this tour. The guitar solos on the studio version of "That's Freedom" and "In Your Hands" are a lot more subdued

Torben, you may like to know that John, the cornet player here, used to be a member of Frank Sinatra’s band. He’s amazing! Also, I recommend that you look up KZbin for Brett Garsed and the late Stuart Fraser. (He passed in 2019 from lung cancer.) They played together sometimes outside of the JF band and Brett did a homage to his friend. Stuart had been a member of “Noiseworks”, along with vocalist Jon Stevens. You may have seen Jon on YT as Judas in the performance of “Everything’s Alright” from “Jesus Christ Superstsr” with Kate Ceberano and John Farnham.

Well where do you start? The song, such a great song, and like a lot of John’s songs has a positive message to portray. John’s range, vocal agility, perfect diction and pronunciation which is great cause a lot of singers out there you can’t understand a bloody word they’re singing, with John it doesn’t matter the genre or range and even in those high belts he does you can still hear the words. And I’m no singer or musician but I know the breath support comes from the core and diaphragm but even crouching down shaking hands, excepting gifts, all sorts of positions he never misses a beat, off pitch or anything, and can even belt out those high notes down there. And yes you’re absolutely correct that every person on that stage is always having so much fun and are right into the music, no one ever looks bored or not wanting to be there which is also rare. The backing vocals amazing as always and Lisa, showing off a bit of lovely leg. Awesome performance all round. You need to have a look at some of John’s earlier stuff too and even his LRB days, like the live LRB concert in 1983, especially “cool change” John was outstanding in that one. And there’s so much more to discover. Thanks for the great reaction and supporting John’s fabulous music.

For johns 50th birthday party/concert, he asked jack Jones to sing with him, but he turned him down. People thought he was too bashful. Years later he said he wasn't bashful, he was terrorfide. He then said it was his greatest regret

Once again the lyrics reflect his views on potential for change... Theres not many Rock Singers who have such great diction and still sound like a rock star..most rock stars sound like rock stars but you have no idea what they are singing. With John every word is crystal clear

This was such an incredible performance from all. Stevie Williams on harmonica was epic, and John, well what else can you say about this master vocalist and performer. Such a great song and outstanding vocals from John and another song with a positive message. This entire stage is filled with some of the greatest musicians out there. I can’t get enough of John and co, they’re amazing artists. Check out John live doing “let me out” an incredible guitar solo from Brett Garsed in that.

What a lovely way to end a week. Thank you, Torben. I love all the John reactions you do. This was a fantastic concert to be at. What am I saying? All of his concerts were fantastic to be at. The band has fun, John has fun, and he makes sure that everyone in his audiences has fun, too. I wish I could rewind the clock back and relive again all of his many concerts that I went to. For over 50+ years, he has been a huge part of my life, and he still is. I was fourteen when Sadie was launched, and I've been a mega fan ever since then. I have a t shirt that I wear all the time that has a picture of our John on it, and it says 'Never underestimate a grandmother who listens to John Farnham.' Yep, that's me. I listen to him every single day. 😍😍
