This is so damn good. But just wait till you hear them sing it live. John's voice reaches even greater heights and they both add just a little something extra all the way through. Freddy Mercury said that the ONLY singer he ever wanted to replace him when he was gone was John. The song -You’ve Got Nothing I Want From Barnsey was written about Jimmy’s experience with the American Music Industry when they were going to sign him. Needless to say he wanted to do things his own way just like John. Very very admirable when getting chucked offers and money from different directions and you say , no I want to be myself and for John wanted to be close to his family.

He didn't decline. He wasn't the fit they were looking for at the time. I think he was the first to be asked to audition or send a tape through.

Jimmy actually sang a song with San Moore it was released last year. Jimmy was 66 at the time and Sam was 86. You should check it out the song is Soothe Me by Jimmy Barnes and Sam More.

When America, England and even Australia do not want to sign John. Why would he want to go across the pond. He is always better live. No one can out power him. John was cleared of cancer about 10 days ago. His Documentary will be released on DVD on the 24th. He did not need Barnes or anymore songs to be famous overseas. There are many of us Aussies putting him out there and have been since Covid started. He has a whole new career, last week 12 of the top 20 albums in Australia were his. Celine Dion calls herself his number one fan and Richard Marx says he is the best voice anywhere alive. He had number one albums in five consecutive decades. There is no might have been famous about it, he is!

John has said throughout his career that he never had any intentions of leaving Australia permanently to boost his career . He was happy doing promotional tours of record companies asked and small tours overseas . John first manager Darryl Sambell in the late 60’s and early 70’s blown John’s chances to extend his EMI contract to the UK . Daryl was just an embarrassment. Because that was the thing the UK born Australian artist to return to the UK smash that market before moving on the the States . The Easybeats , The Bee Gees , Olivia Newton John and AC/DC all did Just that . After John left the Little River Band exhausted from their constant touring of US John said to his best friend manager Glenn Wheatley ; Please don’t make me successful in America . John’s reluctance to leave Australia maybe even cost him replacing Freddie Mercury a few years after he sadly passed away . apparently John was asked to join Queen in the mid 90’s before they got Paul Rogers from Bad Company . Jimmy has similar issues Cold Chisel tried to crack the American market but failed. Jimmy Barnes wrote the hit single You Got Nothing I Want directed at the US record company executives . Jimmy did try again as a solo artist but with not much luck even that Jimmy signature song Working Class Man was written by American Jonathan Cane from Journey . Working Class Man was written specially for Jimmy with many Americana heartland style . Jimmy in recent years has changed the lyrics to be more Australian . Jimmy has only live in France briefly to escape the Australian media after he was hit with some taxation problems . Jimmy returned to Australia as soon that issue was resolved.
