Yo estuve en una de las representaciones. Una cosa es lo que escuchais en el video y otra lo que se escucho en el teatro, que paso a resumir: 1.Voz engolada. 2.Volumen normalito, sin mas. 3.Agudos con proyeccion deficientd. Radvanovsky lo tapaba practicamente en todos. Este señor es un producto de marketing que, ante la ausencia de grandes voces en su repertorio, han pretendido presentarlo como un gran tenor, de lo cual esta mas lejos que de la luna. Este señor, comparado con grandes tenores de verdad, como Corelli, Del Monaco, Di Stefano, Kraus, Aragall o Domingo, no pasaria de hacer papeles secundarios. No os sorprenda leer Domingo: el 1 de enero de 1973, lo vi, en el Liceo, en Andrea Chenier y, ademas dd cantar muy bien, sus si bemoles se "tocaban" desde el "paraiso". Soy absolutamente krausista, pero al Cesar lo que es del Cesar. Otros tenores, de no tanta fama como los citados, tales como Giacomini o Bonisolli, eran muy superiores al "guapito" Kaufmann.

This actually used to be all me, and my voice is digitally blended, but there are clips of Flagstad interspersed. It's too bad the Liceu chose to do this, because the original clip is some of my best singing and was greeted with one of the biggest ovations of my career in spite of the fact that I was stone deaf from blocked eustachean tubes during that performance. Maestro Sebastian Weigle very kindly and eminently musically got me through that performance. I am not sure what the point is ex enkoybcept to try to paint me as a fraud and those who enjoy my work as idiots. Just keeping it real!

I experienced Revelations on yesterday at the Bass Theater on the campus of UT Austin yesterday with my daughter Adrienne. It was fabulous, fantastic, Awesome, to say the least. The Artistic nature of Alvin Ailey lives on in the Souls Of black folk!
