Remember watching this concert. Never realized how much a fan of George Harrison Al is. Yes that is George's son playing with the band too , if memory serves.

I'm glad Al didn't butcher the song otherwise it would've been meaningless.

George Harrison wrote this song in a mysterious spirit of love and spirituality. Some observers say that he is talking about God and others say he's singing about his girlfriend at the time (Patti Boyd). He was also introduced to Indian spirituality during the late 60's. Weird Al sang it in a funny way but it also sort of trivializes what George stood for. A strange mixture of tribute as well as nonsensical body movements.

One of the very few times I've ever heard him cover a song in its original wording. He does a terrific job...

AL sang a different straight cover every night on his Originals only tours in 2018 and 2022/2023. There's a bunch of them that people posted on You Tube. They're all good, but a bunch are incredible!!! American Woman, Rebel Yell, Fire and Rain and Natural Woman are a few of my favorites.

Reminds me of the story I heard. Al got to meet George and when he walked up George had a very serious look on his face. He looked Al straight in the eye and said… Seven, the song is seven words long…. And busted out laughing…

Most of these type of comedians can either sing very well or play an instrument like a genius, that’s because they went through the school of hard knocks and had to cover all bases

He did. He said that he loved Weird AL's movie UHF and watched it with his son, Dhani all the time. Dhani and AL are good friends now and he invites AL to be in his videos and concerts.

The thing about Al is that he's as much a FAN as he is a performer. He's living the dream that so many have had - to be an average guy who works hard and has been extraordinarily successful, doing very cool things with legendary people. He's one of us and that's why we love him.

Less than half of the songs on AL's 14 studio albums are parodies. AL is an incredible songwriter. He alsk writes songs for movies, tv and commercials. I went to 4 of his originals only tours. Only played his original songs and the crowds went nuts. He's amazing!!!
