Notre Dame smokes Indiana at home. I live about an hour or so away from Philly and am in the process of attempting to buy a new home, so no I will not be at the game. But I do have another prediction, CFB Playoff Final two teams... Notre Dame vs... the dreaded Buckeyes of (NOT THEY! Just...) Ohio State. It`s the 3rd year magic, will see what happens.

Squid, I too have been unable to forgive this team after the NIU loss. I boycotted the rest of the season and never watched a second of any game played thereafter. HOWEVER, that was a regular season boycott. Also, NIU released a special bourbon whiskey to commemorate the upset, and I have procured a bottle. My challenge is to finish this bottle before the playoff game to exorcise all the demons from that horrible, horrible day. As Bill the Butcher said, "to defeat my enemy, I extinguish his life and consume him as I consume [this whiskey]"

That USC win was a dominant win (in context)...they had only lost at home once, but 3 pts in OT. Their largest loss on the road was 7 pts. So we doubled their largest loss of the season and quadrupled their only other home loss of 3 pts by Penn State.

Welcome back guys 😉. In my opinion, the conference championship games don't matter. Both two loss Texas & Penn St were rewarded by being seeded higher then one lose Notre Dame? And was Joe Paterno's son on this committee? I mean Penn St couldn't have an easier path. Oh well, Its funny that they compare Cignetti to a cigar, cause come next Friday, were gonna smoke Indiana, Go Irish!!! ☘🏈 ☘

Obviously, I`m an old school guy. I like the pageantry, I like the bands playing the fight songs (Which you don`t really hear much anymore during the broadcasts???), the cheer leaders , the mascots... I like the tradition! Its one of the few things that make it different from the pro`s, even thou its becoming a glorified NFL farm system at this point. I mean I`ve heard talks that USC vs Notre Dame may end because of all this conference re-aliment BS, which I personaly can`t stand. But I get it, like everything else, its about money $$$$$ and trying to force Notre Dame to join The Big Ten, which will probably happen one day. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I highly doubt that a top 5 ranked BYU that goes 12-0 and loses in their CCG drops all the way out of the playoff, but we are arguing for Tosu to get a first round bye with 2 losses if they lose to the only "really" good team they play twice.

Looking backwards historically, applying a 12 team format would have been totally unnecessary to crown a champ. But I think there’s some new parity across CFB and losing ONE game shouldn’t preclude you from playing for the title. 2 losses is still a lot different - it means the first loss isn’t a fluke

Listening to Chase say "2 losses, and you're not good enough to win a national championship" and I want to ask you guys: Do you think a 12-team playoff is necessary to crown a champion? I think it produces a bunch of fun games, but I can't think of a year where there was more than 3 teams that were true worthy champions, and most years there's really only one obvious champion...

@ I hear you. It’s just that there is a rational argument to be made that says a loss like that alone could disqualify a team from deserving a shot at a title. I don’t agree with that argument. I think 11-1 with our wins should put us in. But the argument is defensible nonetheless.

I think a lot of the fear of being left out comes from applying AP Poll logic to the playoff committee. They've show the ability to make brand new judgments and assessments each and every week instead of following the AP's technique of "you don't drop unless you lose"

We're gonna wear that NIU loss around our neck, but I think it's more like a 1.5 loss, so we'd stay ahead of most 2 loss teams. Also, if we keep performing at top 10 in defense and offense, that NIU game looks more and more like an aberration.

I don`t trust this committee at all. Just look at the AP last week, now I understand BYU and IU because there undefeated jumping Notre Dame on a bye week and them dropping two spots to10th. But then Alabama and Ole Miss had a bye, and they moved up 3 spots??? I think Notre Dame should get in at 11-1, but holding us accountable for losing to NIU, so prob not hosting a playoff game. But I can also see the committee screwing us by leaving us out. Might this be there way of forcing Notre Dame to join a conference? I am also rooting for LSU against Bama this weekend, even thou I despise Brian Kelly, I don't want Bama jumping us, and if we get in and have to meet one of these two teams down the line, I think we have a better shot against LSU.
