I took shorthand in 1993 and still remember some of it. I LOVED it!!! I need to start doing it again. It's very relaxing to me. Thank you for uploading these videos. 🙂

I started learning Gregg on my own at a job where I had nothing to do. Couldn't get any dictation practice, though, so I'm looking forward to that after refreshing my memory on words and brief forms.

When I learned Gregg in college in 1986, we learned G as ‘gay.’ Not sure why.

Hey, I loved your video but I'm still confused about something. For the example that means gape, how do I know whether it's gape or gap so basically how do I know if there is an e at the end. Would really appreciate it if you could reply fast cause I need it for a test. Thanks.

it's the small circle that represents e, I think :)

Because of my knowledge in shorthand, I passed the dictation given at the recruiting agency and got the job as a senior secretary in the Saudi Aramco project, Qatif Industrial Support Facilities, Juaymah, Saudi Arabia, 2002 to 2004. And then promoted as executive secretary for the many Aramco projects, 2004 to 2016. Thanks for the many wonderful online lessons you show on KZbin on Gregg Shorthand, a lost art but its usefulness would never ever fade.

Can anyone help me understand the different vowels in Gregg? I don't hear a difference between the "ah" in "cot", "father", and "law." I'm learning anniversary Gregg, which has likewise has different symbols for "calm", "rot", and "raw" but they sound the same to me. Also, which edition of Gregg is taught in the video? I like the way they represent "i" as in "pie."
