I have a sfb 3000 sundown amp that the fan rattled off the circuit board. It is back on, but now the amp shuts off after a few minutes of play. Thoughts on how to fix it or diagnose it?

Could be many things. It’s unlikely that amp shutting down after a few minutes is due to the fan. Watch my other videos on the 3k amps to check out all of the FETs.

@@Moegneto thanks for the response. Ot is actually the 2k. I took it apart this morning and tested the mosfets and such. Nothing looks burnt. Thinking it may be something similar the the relay from the remote wire like in a vid i watched. Going to investigate more this evening. May just snag a new one as they arent too expensive but would still like to tinker around and see if i can learn on this one. I have so many old school amps in the garage that would be nice to be able to fix. Get my old school audiobahn and soundstreems fired up again :-)

Is the 40 htz fs before or after break in that pretty high fs to me Wich tells me this sub is geared towards SPL but 1 cube to hit 40 htz is a pretty strong motor so ur average size box for a 12 is 1.75-2.125 cubes from my experience I didn't remember hearing the price point on this model . I'd love to have one of these to mess around with .

Looks very similar to a Trinity audio sub should be a solid performer going by the specs 3 inch coil and being SQL based sub.

hey love the vids, was wondering if by chance you could help me diagnose my problem i have evl 12s and was trying to turn them into a very powerful amp i have so i went to turn the bass knob up and it was working good then i go to turn it back down and now it plays bass at a very low volume but when you turn it up it sounds like cracked i would say but i looked at the voice coil and it looks fine any ideas?

Could be many things. Check your gain settings, ensure bass boost is turned off. Take a multimeter to your subs and ensure every voice coils is reading correct DCR.

Hello. I am not familiar with those amplifiers. I would recommend pull out a couple of those MOSFETS and placing them on an Oscilloscope or transistor tester to determine electrical characteristics. From there, you should be able to find comparable FETS. a.co/d/67bfNAx

You should be able to get the parts you need from lord of bass or robot underground. Take at apart carefully and measure the coil.

Haha good shot but definitely off. Different manufacturer. Remember this amp is originally designed by sound digital. It has been cloned and redistributed by many folks including Slapz, Sundown, Soundqubed, NVX, Martz, DS18, and on and on and on. Please also remember that about 90% of car audio products are made China. Including your favorite brands.

Good video. Got me to drag out my blown 10Wv3v3 2 ohm sub and give it a go. Spent the day getting it all apart, cleaned up, and ready for a new coil. But I spent some time looking online, and can't seem to find the single coil, 2 ohm voice coil, for it. It's about 53mm tall from the bottom of the spider, @ 39mm width, and @ 36mm of coil height(From best I can tell. Most of the wire was pulled off the tube already). In case anyone knows where i can find 1...

The DVC comes with spring terminals. They will be 99.00 each They actually perform well and definitely will hold 750 rms . Model # Ive tested is ATG12W1500 4ohm DVC cone is smooth poly . It has dual 8 guage spring terminals. Mine were purchased directly from audiotogo . Ive noticed over many years of messing with car audio that if you buy from secondary companies your getting prototypes
