What net are you using? I've got a fairly crappy one I'd like to replace :) Not sure I need a carbon fiber pole but some heatshrink to keep it from scraping is a good idea! Ever used one of those whaletail looking attachments on the brush to force it against the sides of the pool?

Hope the cooler weather is finding its way down to you on the east coast. (I’m located over in Tampa). Question, Jacks Magic Surface gel, is it similar to guys using soapy water to clump debris together on the top surface?

We’re using Pool Boy tile soap I like it cause it’s a 1:1 acid to soap ratio and just add slightly more soap so it’s a little less stiff

@@PoolCareWorld that’s a dope tip, because i was wondering why it takes all my finger strength to get a drop out 🤣. A guy at the chem store put me on to Jacks magic last week, but then I came across another video a guy said he sprays in soapy water to help. Been cleaning pools for 2 years and no one really talks about this technique

A video on finding leaks and patching would be good along with maybe demonstrating a bucket test. Seems I have a leak and will be having a team out having failed the bucket test. Hoping it's just jets or something easy! Sadly I think I'm likely out of your general service area but I'm keeping you in mind :)

Nice trick for siphoning. You should use granulated/powdered Bromine to create the bromine bank (residual), though. It would take time for the tablets to dissolve to create that.

This siphoning works because of “gravity”, but you must remember that in order for you to keep a continuous flow of water going that the end of the hose MUST be LOWER than the vacuum head and/or the end of the hose that is in the water!!! So, in other words, if the output end of the hose is lifted higher than the suction end of the hose you will lose prime and your gravity siphon pump will not work anymore until you re-prime it and get it flowing again!!!

Thanks for putting it in a simple way, spent tons of money my clorine was off the chart like a bad urine drug test dark yellow, i was fitting it, it would not come down for weeks then my WELL water i think is the culprit as i was emptying water out the pool and refilling my untreated water ( i ran it out of softner ) it had effect it im not sure whats in it yet, i need to find out.

Only change I'd make, Do not dump the acid water from the cell into the pool. It is a small thing, but why put the calcium you just cleaned from the salt cell back into the pool water where it runs through the salt cell again.
@PoolCareWorld
@PoolCareWorld 2 ай бұрын
Thank you! Pouring it into the pool does not mean it’s going to end up in the cell think about if was sand I poured into the pool it’s a couple grains in terms of parts per million I’m sure but you can imagine it’s a small amount to the thousands of gallons of pool water. Please don’t pour acid on ground the pool is safest place to despose.

I’m not so sure I would dump that container back in the pool. Didn’t it contain concentrated calcium deposits from the salt cell?? you just dumped all those calcium deposits back in the pool. I realize the acid broke it down into its components, but they can re-aggregate back together in the pool. Might as well dump it on the gravel, adding lots of water to dilute. Especially where you don’t want plants or weeds to grow. There are great tips in the rest of this video though, that I can come away with knowledge

That was extremely thorough and articulate, however at around 4:50 you put the stand on and went directly to adding the acid. You didn’t mention that water was added to the cell FIRST! If you put the acid first and THEN add the water, it’s very dangerous. But an excellent video overall. Thank you.
